Central to this is bioaugmentation - the targeted introduction of high-performing microorganisms into biogas plants to optimize biological processes. Funded by the EU under the Horizon 2020 program, the project brings together 14 partners from six countries. One of its major achievements is a comprehensive metagenomic analysis of 80 samples, offering one of the most in-depth insights to date into the microbial communities of European biogas plants. The roadmap highlights the role of key microbial groups - including bacteria, archaea, fungi, and bacteriophages - and their contribution to the efficiency of anaerobic digestion. It also outlines the state of biogas development in selected EU countries and profiles relevant stakeholders in the sector. Beyond its technical focus, MICRO4BIOGAS aims to raise awareness of the crucial role microbiomes play in biogas production. A Europe-wide survey involving over 200 stakeholders and a collaboration with the Spanish municipality of Aras de los Olmos, which is committed to renewable energy, further enrich the project.}, subject = {Biogas; Anaerobic digestion; Microbiome; MICRO4BIOGAS; Anaerobe Mikrobiome; Biomasseverg{\"a}rung; Biogasanlage; Mikroorganismus; Bioremediation; Metagenomik}, language = {en} } @phdthesis{Marker2025, author = {Marker, Paul}, title = {Generalized method for an efficient design of active hybrid structures : in the stress field between stiffness and compliance}, issn = {2569-2798}, doi = {10.26127/BTUOpen-6946}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:co1-opus4-69466}, school = {BTU Cottbus - Senftenberg}, year = {2025}, abstract = {In structural engineering, active structures that combine the principles of lightweight construction with flexible component behavior are increasingly being realized. Within this approach, the lightweight design offers material-efficient structures which, due to their reduced mass, provide a good basis for an energy-efficient actuation. In addition, the use of flexible component behavior provides the possibility to keep the number of required actuators as low as possible, while maintaining a high degree of adaptability. Therefore, the resulting active hybrid structures represent a promising approach with respect to the development of sustainable active structures in our built environment. Due to a larger number of relevant objectives, this new kind of structures requires a higher design effort compared to classical structures from the field of structural engineering. This dissertation aims to contribute to a more efficient and generalized design process for active hybrid structures. In order to achieve this goal, several strategies have been investigated. First of all, useful target criteria related to the mentioned relevant areas are derived. These should enable a more target-oriented design and provide a basis for formulating appropriate target weighting, allowing the development of ideal compromise solutions that combine structural stiffness, bending elastic transformation behavior and an efficient actuation concept. In addition, a variety of approaches have been investigated to improve the design process of active hybrid structures in a broad stress field between stiffness and compliance. These mainly include the aspects of structure generation, analyses for an optimal load transfer as well as the determination of an associated optimal actuation concept. In the context of this thesis, different subroutines are investigated for the mentioned partial steps of an overall hierarchical method which were implemented in a software application. Some variations of this generalized method were applied to diverse structural case studies of cantilevered systems with different degrees of structural stiffness. Three of these examples, representing segments of roof structures that differ in terms of their bending elastic transformation behavior, were analyzed in more detail in this thesis. These analysis results were verified on real active hybrid prototypes.}, subject = {Active hybrid structures; Structural optimization; Actuator placement; Hierarchical optimization; Digital design; Hierarchische Optimierung; Aktuatorplatzierung; Strukturoptimierung; Aktive hybride Konstruktionen; Digitaler Entwurf; Tragwerk; Leichtbau; Hybridbauweise; Bauentwurf; Software}, language = {en} } @phdthesis{RevillaSanchez2024, author = {Revilla Sanchez, Laura Cristina}, title = {An intersection of heritagisation and securitisation in postcolonial Mexican communities}, doi = {10.26127/BTUOpen-7042}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:co1-opus4-70426}, school = {BTU Cottbus - Senftenberg}, year = {2024}, abstract = {Heritage in postcolonial settings has many dimensions that require in-depth exploration. This research aims to study critical forms of heritage and security through local perspectives in postcolonial settings in order explore to what extent can heritagisation and securitisation have a link in postcolonial communities. Mexico is filled with a mixture of socio-cultural practices, perceptions, and discourses of community-making from official and unofficial perspectives as part of a postcolonial setting. Yet, in times of insecurity due to rising crime and violence, (in)security perceptions and practices may be intertwined with heritage practices and discourses. This connection requires further analysis in order to understand the potentials layers that heritagisation may arise for community implications as can be with (in)security in Comonfort, San Miguel de Allende, and Celaya in the state of Guanajuato in Mexico. In this research, I aim to advance an understanding of heritagisation in postcolonial settings by showing that critical heritage, as a complex field, requires more research towards other regions and other disciplines by exploring an intersection with critical security studies. The study examines this junction through the methodological approach of collective and comparative case studies with ethnographic approaches, employing several methods such as participant observation, ethnographic interviews, surveys, and problem-centred interviews. Through triangulation of data collection and interpretation based on grounded theory, my inquiry captures participants' perspectives on top-down and bottom-up heritagisation with securitisation conceptions; thus, gathering crucial insights and explaining the socio-cultural linkage between the two fields. The chosen methods offer an understanding into a postcolonial methodology, critical perspective, and constructivist paradigm from the proposed intersection. This dialogue points out to the diverse layers of complexities of heritage-making in regard to community-making connected to security-making. In conclusion, this research prompts in presenting a nexus between heritagisation and securitisation in postcolonial communities relating critical heritage and critical security studies in Mexico, and calls to further explore pluriversality of heritage and security practices related to community implications under postcolonial condition.}, subject = {Postcolonial settings; Postkolonialer Kontext; Heritagisation; Securitisation; Community-making; Critical perspective; Mexico; Heritagisierung; Versicherheitlichung; Gemeinschaftsbildung; Kritische Perspektive; Mexiko; Kulturerbe; Sicherheit; Gemeinschaft; Postkolonialismus}, language = {en} } @misc{OPUS4-7002, title = {Amtliches Mitteilungsblatt der BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, 2025,12 (02.06.2025)}, doi = {10.26127/BTUOpen-7002}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:co1-opus4-70026}, year = {2025}, abstract = {Bekanntmachung {\"u}ber die Aufhebung von Studieng{\"a}ngen - Betriebswirtschaftslehre (B.A.) - Euro Hydroinformatics and Water Management (M.Sc.)}, language = {de} } @techreport{SchmidtFuegenschuhBoeschow2025, type = {Working Paper}, author = {Schmidt, Johannes and F{\"u}genschuh, Armin and B{\"o}schow, Moritz M.}, title = {Sports league scheduling with minitournaments}, doi = {10.26127/BTUOpen-7029}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:co1-opus4-70293}, year = {2025}, abstract = {In amateur or youth sports leagues, the teams play all matches during their leisure time. Thus, a schedule with a smaller number of game days is preferred and the teams are willing to partly renounce on the fairness for this by playing minitournaments instead of single matches. In this format, multiple teams meet at one of them and play against each other, reducing the number of necessary game days and required referees at the cost of unevenly distributed home field advantages. The travel times of all teams now depend on their assignment to the respective minitournaments and the choice of the home team. We present a binary linear optimization model to schedule a sports league as a double Round Robin tournament with minitournaments and most evenly distributed home field advantages, yielding a feasible league schedule with minimal total traveling distances for all teams. After adjusting orbital shrinking to break the occurring symmetries in the possible assignments, we discuss the computational efficiency and evaluate an existing schedule for the "Basketball Senioren Landesliga Brandenburg" amateur basketball league in Germany.}, subject = {Discrete optimization; Linear optimization; Orbital shrinking; Sport scheduling; Diskrete Optimierung; Lineare Optimierung; Sportligenplanung; Lineare Optimierung; Diskrete Optimierung; Wettkampfklasse; Amateursport; Jugendsport; Spielplan }, language = {en} } @phdthesis{Donath2025, author = {Donath, Ines}, title = {Evaluierung eutektischer Gemische f{\"u}r den Einsatz als PCM : Entwicklung und Anwendung einer thermografischen Hochdurchsatzmethode}, doi = {10.26127/BTUOpen-7014}, url = {http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:kobv:co1-opus4-70141}, school = {BTU Cottbus - Senftenberg}, year = {2025}, abstract = {Energie kommt in vielf{\"a}ltigen Formen vor und kann zu den bedeutendsten Resssourcen gez{\"a}hlt werden. Großes Interesse besteht an thermischer Energie, wie sie bei Verbrennungsprozessen fossiler Rohstoffe oder als ungenutztes Nebenprodukt in der Industrie entsteht. Die so erzeugte W{\"a}rme wird u.a. weiter in elektrische Energie umgewandelt.
