In the context of libraries there are a vast "canon" of methods and contents in the field of information literacy, especially concerning the knowledge transfer through introductions and workshops. Concerning the online activities, the e-learning, there is no systematic way of teaching and the efforts are often restricted to isolated projects. This manual tends to give an overview aboutz possible online tutorials for information literacy, relating to target groups, their needs, possible contents, methods and ways of konwledgetransfer. Also communication strategies and evaluation are described.
Withadrawal in a library depends on the profile of the organisation, to which serves the library and the circumstances, especially short space. By the diminishing of collections one should exercise the same rules as for collection building, the librarian should act after the same criterions. If there is enough space, one should not deacquisit stock. Otherwise act in the manner that the profile of the collection is conserved. After depreciation, the withdrawals should passed over in a sensefull manner to other libraries.
First is described the future internet user, who seldom uses websites, but uses often his compilation of rss-feeds, actualising automatically. The source of such feeds is often social software, which can be run from every personal computer, because it is offered to webservers often without fees. Several services are described and the application by libraries is outlined. Those services are not broad introduced in German libraries, because a revision of practical thinking is necessary at first. The afforded skills for this revision are technical innovation ability, moderation competence, capability to generate user-orientated contents, proactive and flexible professional action. It is supposed to use the new services at first before implement them in the library management and initiate this at best with working groups of the library.

How to plan an Intranet
(2003)
An intranet is a tool for better communication and knowledge management in organisations. This manual gives advice to plan and give a structure to an intranet (general informations, specific informations about the library, tools for office work, juridical and scientific information, interactive options) for one-person librarians and how to maintain it.
Library staff needs not only management, but also training, instructions, guidance and other more. This sphere of activity of the library management is structured in catchwords. The manual deals with the types of employees, the activities and requirements, the interaction and the personnel management are treated in the narrower sense.

Marketing plans of libraries often are focussed to the whole institution, not to the several services of the library or information centre. It tends more to public relations then to a planned conception and marketing of the several services. This working paper shows how to target clients, how to make a conception of each service, how to search for "channels" to communicate to the clients and then to promote the services. The text is especially for one-person libraries, but can be read also by other types of library, for example special libraries.
