<title language="deu">Steps towards Implementing the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information at FIZ Karlsruhe</title>
"FIZ Karlsruhe - Leibniz-Institute for Information Infrastructure" is one of the large research infrastructure institutions in Germany and member of the Leibniz Association. We provide scientists with information, develop products and services and make them publicly accessible. FIZ Karlsruhe activities cover a wide variety of research domains and all phases of the research life cycle, from literature search to technology and knowledge transfer. As signatory to the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information FIZ Karlsruhe takes steps towards the four commitments. (1) To “make openness the default” is integral part of our activities, as stated publicly in our Open Access policy. (2) To “work with services to support open research information” is a principle of our activities, e.g. in zbMath Open as one of the large global information services for mathematics. (3) Regarding the “sustainability of infrastructures”, we operate services as a sustainable infrastructure provider, e.g. for OpenAlex data in our role as technology and data provider in the consortial “Competence Network Bibliometrics“ (KB) in Germany. This includes processes for reliability, quality assurance and data enrichment. (4) We “support collective action” in that we fulfil multiple roles in open, collaborative infrastructures such as the national research data infrastructure NFDI in Germany or the European Open Science Cloud EOSC. We engage in initiatives relevant for science policy developments such as the Research Data Alliance RDA or the Coalition for the Reform of Research Assessment CoARA.
For the future, we further strive for making open data for research intelligence a robust and reliable part of the scientific information infrastructure, e.g. by designing and operating sustained services for linking and synchronizing global sources of research information for the “Competence Network Bibliometrics“ (KB) in Germany. Our contribution to the conference will lay out those plans in detail.
