Antennen-Anomalie beim Hausbockkäfer Hylotrupes bajulus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae)
- In 2012, the house Ianghorn beetle (Hylotrupes bajulus) breeding culture of the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin produced a female beetle with a unique malformed right antenna. Distal to the pedical, the flageilum was bifurcated into a Ionger branch with the typical 9 flageilomeres and a shorter branch with only 4 flageilomeres. The left antenna of the same animal was normally developed with 11 segments (scape, pedical and 9 flageiiomeres). The malformation is interpreted as "Bruchdreifachbildung" (triplication of structures after damage during metamorphosis).
