T1 - [Fe19] “Super-Lindqvist” Aggregate and Large 3D Interpenetrating Coordination Polymer from Solvothermal Reactions of [Fe2(OtBu)6] with Ethanol N2 - The syntheses, crystal structures, and physical properties of [HFe19O14(OEt)30] and {Fe11(OEt)24}1 are reported. [HFe19O14(OEt)30] has an octahedral shape. Its core with a central Fe metal ion surrounded by six m6-oxo ligands is arranged in the rock salt structure. {Fe11(OEt)24}1 is a mixedvalence coordination polymer in which FeIII metal ions form three 3D interpenetrating (10,3)-b nets. The arrangement of the FeIII ions can also be compared to that of Si ions in a-ThSi2. Thus, the described structures are at the interface between molecular and solid-state chemistry. T1 - Gradient porous silicon nitride prepared via vacuum foaming and freeze drying N2 - Gradient porous silicon nitride (Si3N4) was fabricated by a novel vacuum foaming and freeze drying process. Aqueous Si3N4 slurries were foamed at vacuum pressure of 50–90 kPa, the green body was obtained by the freeze drying process, a gradient pore structure with porosities of 72–90% was achieved after pressureless sintering at 1680 °C. The porosity was increased with decreasing vacuum pressure. The pore structure consists of large pores (~100 μm) on top, medium pores (~45 μm) on the wall of the large pores, and small pores (~0.7 μm) in the matrix. Such gradient porous Si3N4 with macro- and micro-pores has potential application as high temperature filters. These layers are mostly characterized by a low packing rate. On the other hand, appreciable densities can be reached by the use of ceramic slurries. In this context, the layer-wise slurry deposition (LSD) has been developed. Specific features of the LSD process are reflected on the basis of already existing additive manufacturing technologies. T2 - 47. The suitability of low alloyed Steel UNS G41300, stainless steels UNS S31603 UNS S31803, UNS S32760 and super austenitic Steel UNSN08031 in these geothermal waters, investigated by electrochemical measurements and exposure tests, is limited. The nickel based alloy UNS N06059 shows excellent corrosion resistance against pitting corrosion. Excluding its high cost, it is a very good alternative to be used in the construction of geothermal facilities having highly sahne brines. Stainless and duplex steels exhibit a limited corrosion resistance concerning pitting and crevice corrosion. Besides the higher alloyed materials, also the low-alloyed Steel UNS G41300 could be employed as a constructional material for the geothermal power plant in non-saline environments with moderate pH, as long as the wall thickness of the material vs. corrosion rate is taken into account. T1 - Electrochemical characterization of high alloyed materials in molten salts for solar energy applications N2 - Within the last years the use of feasible alternative energy sources has risen and is going to replace fossil resources more and more. Nevertheless, service conditions in solar facilities are due to the chemical composition of heat transmission media and temperatures, in many cases, extreme in terms of corrosion. Since the construction of power plants shall be economical with maximum life service, materials selection based on preliminary material qualification is essential to guarantee a secure and reliable operation of those facilities. The materials selection depends on the operation temperature of a power plant on the chemical composition of the transmission fluid used. In high corrosive environments Ni-based alloys are often used as an all-round solution for the construction of corrosion resistant parts, because of their good corrosion properties. However, there might be limits for their use regarding their corrosion behavior, with which this contribution deals. Experiences from the electrochemical characterization of materials in aqueous solutions are transferred to molten salts, providing a good addition to common exposure tests at temperatures from 450 0C to 600 0C. By means of electrochemical measurements and exposure tests the suitability of high alloyed materials in molten nitrate salt (60 % NaNO3/40 % KNO3) can be characterized. The method was verified on different Ni-based alloys (UNS N08810, UNS N06600) and Titanium (UNS R50250).
