T1 - Quantitative determination of adhesive tape properties by CAT-technology (centrifugal adhesion testing) T2 - EURADH 2016 Adhesion ´16 N2 - The future commercial prospects for adhesive tapes are very good and its application range is very broad. From every-day-use in office, packaging, maintenance, and quick repair in workshops, it ranges from handicraft work, medical purposes and cosmetics up to workmanship. The study describes a new multi-sample approach in adhesive tape testing from theoretical background, preparation of test specimen for tensile as well as shear testing, detailed measurement procedures up to analysis and result interpretation. Various types of single and double-sided pressure sensitive adhesive tapes supplied by different manufacturers were investigated and compared T2 - EURADH 2016 Adhesion ´16 CY - Glasgow, UK DA - 21.09.2016 KW - Tensile KW - Shear KW - Peel KW - Strength KW - Analytical centrifugation KW - Adhesive tapes PY - 2016 SP - 352 EP - 355 AN - OPUS4-37664 LA - eng AD - Bundesanstalt fuer Materialforschung und -pruefung (BAM), Berlin, Germany ER - TY - CONF A1 - Scheuerlein, C. T1 - Mechanical properties of the HL-LHC 11 Tesla Nb3Sn magnet constituent materials N2 - A test campaign was launched to determine the mechanical properties of the HL-LHC 11 T Nb₃Sn magnet components in order to accurately model the mechanical properties in Finite Element simulations that predict the stress and strain distribution in these magnets. Static and dynamic test methods have been applied for determining elastic materials behavior, and highly accurate Young’s moduli are obtained with the dynamic methods resonance and impulse excitation. These non-destructive methods also enable temperature dependent modulus measurements during in situ heat cycles.
