To produce the Ni - based coatings the QS Nd:YAG laser cladding process was carried out. As the substrate used 13CrMo4-5 boilers plate steel. Ni - base alloys characterize the excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance, good strength and ability to work in aggressive environments. Formed clad were characterized by high quality of metallurgical bonding with the substrate material and sufficiently low amount of the iron close to the clad layer surface. After corrosion experiment the oxide scale on the substrate and clad created. The scale on 13CrMo4-5 steel had 70 μm thickness while the scale of the clad had less than 10 μm. The microstructure, chemical composition of the obtained clad and scales were investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) equipped with the EDS detectors. T1 - Machine learning based multi-sensor fusion for the nondestructive testing of corrosion in concrete N2 - Half-cell potential mapping (HP) is the most popular non-destructive testing method (NDT) for locating corrosion damage in concrete. It is generally accepted that HP is susceptible to environmental factors caused by salt-related deterioration, such as different moisture and chloride gradients. Additional NDT methods are able to identify distinctive areas but are not yet used to estimate more accurate test results. We present a Supervised Machine Learning (SML) based approach to data fusion of seven different signal features to obtain higher quality information. SMLs are methods that explore (or learn) relationships between different (sensor) data from predefined data labels. To obtain a representative, labelled data set we conducted a comprehensive experiment simulating the deterioration cycle of a chloride exposed device in the laboratory. Our data set consists of 18 measurement campaigns, each containing HP, Ground Penetrating- Radar, Microwave Moisture and Wenner resistivity data. We compare the performance of different ML approaches. Many outperform the best single method, HP. We describe the intrinsic challenges posed by a data-driven approach in NDT and show how future work can help overcome them. Der tiefenabhängige Chloridgehalt sowie der Karbonatisierungsfortschritt müssen bei der Bewertung des Ist-Zustandes, beim Instandsetzungsbedarf und ggf. bei der Planung eines erforderlichen Instandsetzungskonzeptes mit einbezogen werden. Seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre wird an der Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung die laserinduzierte Plasmaspektroskopie (engl. Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) – kurz LIBS – stetig für die chemische Analyse von Beton weiterentwickelt. In diesem Beitrag wird der aktuelle Stand der Forschung/ Technik und der Normungsarbeit präsentiert, sowie zukünftig mögliche Anwendungen vorgestellt. Mit den aktuellen LIBS-Systemen (mobiles LIBS-System sowie kommerziell erhältliche Laborsysteme) ist es möglich den Chloridgehalt ortsaufgelöst in wenigen Minuten zu quantifizieren, sogenannte Elementlandkarten zu erstellen und somit die Elementverteilung innerhalb des Betons zu visualisieren. Durch das Scannen eines Bohrkernquerschnittes und der simultanen Erfassung von mehreren Elementen mit einer Messung, ist es zudem möglich, die Gesteinskörnung in den Messdaten zu identifizieren und den Chloridgehalt auf die Zementsteinmatrix zu beziehen. Fehlerquellen aus der Umrechnung der betonbezogenen Chloridgehalte können dadurch minimiert werden. Fragen zur Degradation der Sensoren unter Beanspruchung, Alterung durch klimatische Einflüsse und Enthaftung infolge Belastung der Struktur konnten bisher nur theoretisch simuliert oder anhand exemplarischer Proben für einzelne einflussnehmende Parameter im Labor untersucht werden. Die Erfassung des Sensorverhaltens im Bauteil unter komplexen Umwelteinflüssen während des Bauteilbetriebes, um damit eine Aussage zur Zuverlässigkeit der Sensormessdaten zu gewinnen, war bisher nicht möglich. Im Forschungsprojekt FAMOS² wurde deshalb von 2014 bis 2018 die Realisierung eines Autodiagnoseverfahrens für faseroptische Dehnungssensoren erarbeitet, um die Funktionszuverlässigkeit und Langzeitstabilität der Sensoren während des Bauteilbetriebes innerhalb einer Bauteilstruktur bewerten zu können. Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojektes wurde gezeigt, dass ein FBG-Sensor mit einer speziell angepassten magnetostriktiven Schicht magnetisch so angeregt werden kann, dass mit einer zugeschnittenen Messmethodik zu jedem Zeitpunkt eine Bewertung der Sensorzuverlässigkeit unter Betriebsbedingungen möglich ist. Die auf den Sensor aufgebrachte magnetostriktive Schicht erzeugt bei Anregung mit einem passenden Magnetfeld eine gepulste, synthetische Dehnung. Diese Dehnung steht in einem definierten Verhältnis zum anregenden Magnetfeld und wird optisch über die Verschiebung der Bragg-Wellenlänge ausgelesen. Die Konstanz dieses Verhältnisses stellt dann ein Maß für die korrekte Funktionsfähigkeit des Sensors dar. Das Beschichtungs-verfahren, das magnetische Anregungs- und optische Ausleseverfahren, wie auch die Validierung des Sensors unter Berücksichtigung faseroptischer Effekte wurden während des Projekts konzeptionell entwickelt, aufgebaut und charakterisiert. Qualitativ kann mit diesem Verfahren zunächst eine Gut-/Schlecht-Beurteilung des Sensors vorgenommen werden. Perspektivisch bietet das Verfahren jedoch auch die Möglichkeit, verschiedene Versagensmechanismen bestimmen und klassifizieren zu können. Es zeichnete sich schon während des Projektverlaufs ab, dass sich aus den erzielten Ergebnissen über das Autodiagnoseverfahren hinaus weitere Anwendungsmöglichkeiten für den Einsatz des kombinierten magnetostriktiv-faseroptischen Sensorprinzips, beispielsweise als reiner Magnetfeldsensor, ergeben. Nach Abschluss dieses Forschungsprojekts besteht nun die Möglichkeit, den Funktionszustand faseroptischer Dehnungssensoren jederzeit unabhängig von Alter, Belastung oder Kenntnis eines Referenzzustands zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt bestimmen zu können. Aufbauend auf diesen Ergebnissen können weiterführende Forschungen die Messmethodik vertiefend charakterisieren und weitere Anwendungsfälle erschließen. Das BAM-Teilvorhaben beinhaltet das Screening von Benchmark-Materialsystemen und die Validierung von Messstrategien. Im Ergebnis erfolgte eine Fokussierung auf das im Vergleich zur off Null Ellipsometrie (ONE) aussichtereichere Verfahren der referenzkompensierten Ellipsometrie(RKE), das marktstrategisch in RSE (referenced spectral ellipsometry) umbenannt wurde. Alle Materialsysteme der BAM-Unterauftragnehmer konnten mit IE visualisiert werden, mit dem RSE-System in wesentlich kürzeren Zeiten, auf größeren Flächen, bei vergleichbarer Empfindlichkeit und Auflösung, Komplementärverfahren waren für den schnellen Nachweis nano- und mikroskaliger Belegung nicht konkurrenzfähig, wobei zusätzliche Materialsysteme mit niedrigem Kontrast (SnO:Ni auf Glas bzw. For industrial high temperature applications above 400 °C multicomponent chloride eutectics are promising and therefore discussed seriously. The profound thermodynamic investigation of such eutectics requires a much greater amount of specimen material than conventional calorimeter can handle. Therefore, a special adiabatic calorimeter was developed and designed. With a specimen mass of > 100 g the typical thermodynamic measurements with a commercial calorimeter can be extended by cycle stability measurements, which are often decisive for practical application of PCM. Furthermore, by implementing corrosion specimens inside the calorimeter high temperature corrosion experiments according to ISO 21608 can be performed inside the calorimeter. Adiabatic measuring conditions can be provided by using two separate heating systems. Therefore, the outer “protective system” follows the temperature curve of the inner “measuring system” minimizing the temperature difference between the heating systems and simultaneously preventing heat losses from the measuring systems. For survey, the development of a low cost, cost-efficient sensor network to be embedded for continuous or attached to the surface for periodic monitoring is essential. Changing ground water conditions, flood or even leakage in fresh or disposal of waste water can lead to in-creased moisture content in building materials and structural elements as walls or floors. Moisture allows the transport of other adverse chemicals that might reduce the durability of structures. The paper presents a feasibility study about the capability of microwave modules as bluetooth® or ZigBee with frequency range at 2,4 GHz to create advanced Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) for estimation and visualization of moisture distribution in infrastructure assets. It was found that the value of the received signal strength indication (RSSI) depends on the moisture content and can be the basis for the moisture distribution inside a massive structure. The microwave modules may be used to compose networks outside and inside of building materials or structural elements. The higher the number of connections between BLE modules, the more precise and the more distant information can be obtained from the network. Die Wirksamkeit hängt jedoch von der Dauer, dem Restsauerstoffgehalt sowie der Temperatur und Feuchtigkeit ab. Unterschiedliche Arten von Schadinsekten sind verschieden tolerant gegenüber sauerstoffarmen Bedingungen. Insbesondere bei Behandlungsbedingungen von unter 24° C und mehr als 0,5 % Restsauerstoffgehalt stößt das Verfahren an die Grenze der Zuverlässigkeit. In Versuchsreihen unter standardisierten Bedingungen erwiesen sich insgesamt 12 von 34 im Projekt untersuchte Insektenarten hierbei als widerstandsfähig. Davon als besonders tolerante Arten sind Hylotrupes bajulus, Lasioderma serricorne, Trogoderma parabile und Mezium affine zu nennen. Mit dem entwickelten UWB-Sensoriksystem können durch elektromagnetische Wellen Bewegungen von Schädlingen innerhalb geschlossener Holzobjekte berührungslos erfasst werden. Voraussetzung für die eindeutige Detektion der Schädlingsaktivität ist neben der digitalen Signalverarbeitung zur Filterung und Extraktion des Nutzsignals, die genügend hohe Eindringtiefe, die ausreichend ist, wenn Schädlingsvorkommen häufig dicht unter der Holzoberfläche gelegen sind. Die Versuchsergebnisse haben gezeigt, dass bereits eine einzelne Trockenholztermite der Art Incisitermes marginipennis hinter einer 5 cm dicken Holzplatte aufgespürt werden kann. Somit erscheint das Messsystem potentiell für die Erfolgskontrolle einer Anoxia-Behandlung an Museumsgütern geeignet. The corresponding heat distribution on the surface monitored using infrared thermal (IR) camera. A simplified 3D model for laser thermography is developed and validated with experimental results. A dedicated image processing algorithm developed to improve the detectability of the cracks. To understand the dependency of surface temperature, laser power, laser scanning speed etc. in defect detection, we carried out parametric studies with our validated model. Außerdem sind beim durchgehenden Handling im OKTETT die identische Vorbehandlung vor dem Kleben, identische Transferzeiten und -bedingungen zwischen den verschiedenen Prozessschritten, eine weitgehend gleichartige Klebstoffaufbereitung und -applikation sowie die bessere Einhaltung von gleichen Verarbeitungs- und Aushärtezeiten der Klebstoffe vor der Prüfung der Verbundfestigkeit für jeweils 8 Proben sichergestellt. Im Ergebnis dieser Überlegungen stellte sich schnell heraus, dass das Mehr-Proben-Kleben unter identischen Bedingungen für in Grenzen unterschiedliche Verbundsysteme eine ungelöste Aufgabenstellung ist. The starting points of this work were modified Yoldas-sols which were developed in the BAM-department 5.6. These sols were suitable for the spin-coating method only. The application of coatings on tubes by spin-coating is impossible. Therefore, the chemical composition of the modified Yoldas-sol had to be adapted to the dip- and spray-coating techniques. Exclusively the sol with the composition s-0.52-6-1.5 with a nitrate/aluminium ratio of 0.52; a solid content of 6 wt.% and a PVP (binder) content of 1.5 wt.% could fulfill the necessary criteria: long-term stability; formation of a dense, crack-free and well adhered layer on polished metal surfaces; as well as high protective abilities against corrosion in H2O-CO2-O2-SO2. The commercial power plant steel X20CrMoV12-1 (X20) and the steel X12Cr13 were successfully coated with the sol s-0.52-6-1.5 by means of the dip-coating method. An at least 400 nm thick alumina layer (δ-Al2O3) is necessary to ensure the corrosion protection of these steels. The corrosion of the coated samples compared to that of the uncoated ones was significantly reduced, even after 1000 h of exposure in a H2O-CO2-O2-SO2 atmosphere at 600°C. Sulfur and carbon were not detected at the substrate surface or beneath the coating. Hence the transport of the flue gas components SO2 and CO2 into as well as through the alumina layer could be hindered. The diffusion of the alloying elements (Cr, Mn, Si) into the alumina layer resulted in the formation of mixed oxides like δ-(Al,Cr)2O3. Formation of such phases considerably contributed to the corrosion protection. The long-term stability of the sol s-0.52-6-1.5 and the high protective abilities of the alumina layer on commercial power plant steels provide a good basis for an industrial application. Die genaue Kenntnis der Materialparameter ist dabei von besonderer Bedeutung. Um diese Parameter bestimmen zu können, müssen die verwendeten Werkstoffe messtechnisch charakterisiert werden. Neben anderen Ansätzen sind dafür akustische Verfahren im Ultraschallbereich geeignet. Für dünnwandige und plattenförmige Materialien können aus den sich ausbreitenden geführten Wellen messtechnisch Dispersionskurven bestimmt und aus diesen die Materialparameter abgeleitet werden. Da für die Signalverarbeitung und für Optimierungsaufgaben aktuell zunehmend Machine Learning Tools zum Einsatz kommen, stellt sich die Frage, ob diese Werkzeuge auch für die Ermittlung der Materialparameter aus den gemessenen Dispersionskurven eingesetzt werden können. In der vorgestellten Untersuchung soll ein Convolutional Neural Network aufgestellt werden, welches aus Dispersionsbildern Muster extrahiert und aus diesen eine Schätzung für die Materialparameter ermittelt. Um die Machbarkeit dieses Ansatzes zu prüfen, werden zunächst nur isotrope Materialien betrachtet. Für das Netz werden mit der Scaled-Boundary-Finite-Element-Methode synthetische Daten für das Trainieren und Validieren generiert. T1 - Tailoring the FeO/SiO2 ratio in electric arc furnace slags to minimize the leaching of Vanadium and Chromium N2 - Based on recently published research on leaching control mechanisms in electric arc furnace (EAF) slags, it is assumed that a FeO/SiO2 ratio of around one leads to low leached V and Cr concentrations. This ratio influences the mineral phase composition of the slag toward higher amounts of spinel and a lower solubility of calcium silicate phases by suppressing the formation of magnesiowuestite and highly soluble calcium silicate phases. To evaluate this hypothesis, laboratory and scaled up tests in an EAF pilot plant were performed on slag samples characterized by elevated V and Cr leaching and a high FeO/SiO2 ratio. Prior to the melting experiments, the optimum FeO/SiO2 ratio was calculated via FactSageTM. In the melting experiments, the ratio was adjusted by adding quartz sand, which also decreased the basicity (CaO/SiO2) of the slag. As a reference, remelting experiments without quartz sand addition were conducted and additionally, the influence of the cooling rate of the slag was examined. The remelted (without quartz sand) and the remelted modified slags (with quartz sand) were analyzed chemically and mineralogically and the leaching behavior was investigated. The modification of the slags yielded a minimized release of V and Cr, supporting the hypothesis that the FeO/SiO2 ratio influences the mineralogy and the leaching behavior. Their management is essential to protect cultural ethnological heritage and natural history collections for future generations. Pest management strategies have changed over time. Today, intensive knowledge on pest biology and overall material science are key cornerstones in IPM concepts - also for the Museum environment. The important first steps for sustainable pest management are risk assessment, early pest detection and identification of pathways of infestation. These steps are followed by physical and biological means of control, which have lately gained more importance than applying biocides. Several potentially effective biological enemies of clothes moths and woodworm have been known for a long time, but their promotion for pest control in Museums and historic houses is just beginning. This short review summarizes current concepts of pest life cycle interruption by applying good quarantine and very specific biological measures. The lessons learned from recent faunistic surveys, life-history studies as well as behavioral observations of parasitoids and predators of clothes moths and woodworm may supplement the pest management tool box. The need for further research in this field is addressed. The study of the femtosecond nonlinear propagation was performed based on coupled generalised nonlinear Schrödinger equations considering three fibre architectures: homogeneous cladding all-solid, photonic crystal air-glass, and photonic crystal all-solid. The structural geometries of all three architectures were optimised in order to support high-contrast switching performance in the C-band, considering pulse widths at the 100 fs level. Comparing the three structural alternatives, the lowest switching energies at common excitation parameters (1700 nm and 70 fs pulses) were predicted for the homogeneous cladding dual-core structure. Further optimization of the excitation wavelength and pulse width resulted in lower switching energies and simultaneous improvement of the switching contrasts at the combination of 1500 nm, 75 fs pulses and a fibre length of 43 mm. The spectral aspect in this optimised case expresses a broadband and uniform switching character with a span of over 200 nm and a contrast exceeding 30 dB at more frequency channels. A1 - Weller, Andreas T1 - Low-frequency impedance spectroscopy of wood N2 - The method of low-frequency impedance spectroscopy has been successfully applied in Earth sciences to characterize soils and rocks. The method uses the diagnosing power of complex electrical resistivity in a frequency range between 1 mHz and 1 kHz. In our study, the potential of this method has been explored for the investigation of wood. We observed remarkable differences in the resulting spectra of complex resistivity for different European and Tropical tree species. The data processing of the acquired low-frequency impedance spectra yields integrating parameters. The comparison of the integrating parameters with the mean pore diameter that has been separately determined for the tropical tree species indicates clear correlations. An additional investigation has revealed remarkable difference in the complex resistivity spectra between oil bearing and non-oil bearing sandal wood. This result and the relations between electrical parameters and structural parameters of wood indicate the prospective potential of low-frequency impedance spectroscopy. Generell besteht bei Prüfung der Haftfestigkeit mittels Stirnabzugsversuch und bei der Prüfung der Klebfestigkeit die Notwendigkeit eines statistisch validierten Herangehens. Hierzu sind zeitaufwändige Ein-Proben-Klebungen und -Prüfungen nur eingeschränkt geeignet. Zudem ist, insbesondere für geringe Haft- bzw. T1 - Emissions of material preservatives into the environment - realistic extimation of environmental risks through the improved characterisation of the leaching of biocides from treated materials used outdoors N2 - This report supports the implementation of European regulations on biocidal products for the product types 7, 9 and 10. Emission of active substances from material preservatives into environmental compartments can occur due precipitation. Risk characterisations have to be based on estimations of environmental concentrations of target substances leached from material preservatives. Harmonised test procedures are required to predict environmental impact due to leaching. Seventeen treated articles, mainly paints, but also a textile, sealing tapes and sealing masses were investigated by intermittent contact to water to prove suitability of the proposed laboratory test procedure. Parameters that affect leaching of active substances were examined. Further development of a semi-analytical model to describe laboratory leaching data revealed that the model can be improved if changes of the leachability of substances during the test are supposed and integrated. Six paints and a textile were exposed to weathering to compare results from laboratory and field experiments. Similarities between leaching processes in both test approaches were observed. Generally, emissions of active substances are considerably higher in laboratory tests than from vertically installed test specimens exposed to weathering. Competing processes that cause losses of active substances can occur in both tests, but to a higher degree in field experiments. In addition, the influence of meteorological parameters on leaching processes was investigated. Factors besides the amount of driving rain were identified that effect leaching processes by complex interaction. Relations between laboratory and field data were analysed, and the applicability of the semi-analytical model was tested for field data. Guidance documents for leaching tests under laboratory and field conditions were drafted and discussed with experts on EU Level workshop 3./4. July 2014, BAM, Berlin), and are included in this Report. N2 - Dieser Bericht unterstützt die Umsetzung europäischer Regelungen für Biozidprodukte der Produkttypen 7, 9 und 10. Die Freisetzung von Wirkstoffen aus Materialschutzmitteln in Umweltkompartimente kann bei Niederschlagsereignissen auftreten. Risikocharakterisierungen müssen auf Abschätzungen von Umweltkonzentrationen der betrachteten Stoffe basieren. Harmonisierte Testverfahren sind erforderlich, um eine Beeinflussung der Umwelt durch Auswaschung vorherzusagen. Siebzehn behandelte Waren, vor allem Farben, aber auch ein Textil, Dichtungsbänder und Dichtungsmassen wurden bei periodischem Wasserkontakt untersucht, um die Anwendbarkeit des vorgeschlagenen Laborverfahrens nachzuweisen. Faktoren, die Einfluss auf die Auswaschung von Wirkstoffen haben, wurden untersucht. Die Wieterentwicklung eines semianalytischen Modells zur Beschreibung von Auswaschdaten aus Laborversuchen ergab, dass das Modell verbessert werden kann, wenn eine Änderung der Auswaschbarkeit von Substanzen während des Versuchs angenommen und einbezogen wird. Sechs Farben und ein Textil wurden der Witterung ausgesetzt, um Ergebnisse aus Labor- und Freilandversuchen zu vergleichen. Zwischen Auswaschprozessen in beiden Versuchsansätzen wurden Ähnlichkeiten beobachtet. Im Allgemeinen sind die Emissionen von Wirkstoffen im Laborversuch deutlich höher als bei vertikal installierten bewitterten Prüfkörpern. Konkurrierende Prozesse, die Verluste an Wirkstoffen bewirken, können in beiden Testverfahren auftreten, sind aber im Freilandversuch stärker ausgeprägt. Außerdem wurde der Einfluss von meteorologischen Parametern auf Auswaschprozesse untersucht. Es wurden Faktoren identifiziert, die zusätzlich zur Schlagregenmenge durch komplexe Interaktion auf Auswaschprozesse wirken. Beziehungen zwischen Labor- und Frei-landdaten wurden analysiert und die Anwendbarkeit des semianalytischen Modells für Freilanddaten getestet. Leitfäden für Auswaschversuche unter Labor-bzw. T1 - Entwicklung eines kombinierten Schutzsystems für chloridbelastete Betonflächen aus Spritzverzinkung mit abdichtender Beschichtung (Abschlussbericht, AiF 12 818 N/2) N2 - Die Zielsetzung dieses Projektes war es, ein kombiniertes Schutzsystem aus Spritzverzinkung und abdichtendem Oberflächenschutzsystem für die Instandsetzung chloridbelasteter und korrosionsgeschädigter Stahlbetonbauteile zu entwickeln. Dabei soll die Spritzverzinkung der Betonoberfläche in den ersten Jahren nach der Instandsetzung einen kathodischen Korrosionsschutz der Bewehrung bewirken, bis der Beton infolge des Oberflächenschutzsystems soweit ausgetrocknet ist, dass auch ohne kathodischen Schutz praktisch keine Korrosion der Bewehrung mehr stattfinden kann. Anhand von Untersuchungen zur Haftung zwischen Beton, Zinkschicht und verschiedenen Oberflächenschutzsystemen wurde der Aufbau des kombinierten Schutzsystems entwickelt. Es wurden verschiedene OS-11a-Systeme ein OS-13-System sowie zwei Systeme nach ZTV-ING, Teil 7 vor und nach künstlicher Bewitterung untersucht. Anhand der Ergebnisse wurde für das kombinierte System ein OS-11a-System ausgewählt und im weiteren hinsichtlich der Wirksamkeit des kathodischen Schutzes sowie hinsichtlich der Austrocknung des Betons untersucht. Es zeigte sich sowohl an ausgelagerten Prüfköpfen sowie auf einer angelegten Versuchsfläche auf Freideck eines Parkhauses, dass ein wirksamer galvanischer kathodischer Korrosionsschutz der Bewehrung nur bei sehr hohen Chloridgehalten (4 M.-% bezogen auf den Zementgehalt) erreicht werden kann. Bei geringeren untersuchten Chloridgehalten kam es vermutlich infolge der Austrocknung der Zink/Beton-Kontaktzone nach relativ kurzer Zeit zu einer Inaktivierung des Zinks. Bei Chloridgehalten von 4 M.-% bildeten sich zwischen der Zinkschicht und dem ausgewählten OS-System gasgefüllte Blasen. Diese Problematik, sowie die Tatsache dass die Wirksamkeit des Prinzips W (Austrocknung des Betons) bei derart hohen Chloridgehalten bezweifelt werden muss, grenzt die Anwendbarkeit des Kombinationssystems mit der Zinkschicht als Opferanode deutlich ein. An neun Jahre alten, ausgelagerten Prüfköpfen durchgeführte Untersuchungen zeigten jedoch, dass mittels Fremdstrombeaufschlagung zwischen Zinkschicht und Bewehrung ein wirksamer kathodischer Schutz auch bei geringeren Chloridgehalten erreicht werden kann. Der Einsatz des entwickelten Kombinationssystems mit Fremdstrombeaufschlagung erscheint somit durchaus durchführbar. Dabei sollte der Fremdstrom jedoch vorsichtig dosiert werden, um den Haftverbund zum Zink nicht zu sehr zu schwächen. Das Ziel des Vorhabens wurde somit erreicht. It is based on applying thermal energy to a samples’ surface whereas inner defects alter the nonstationary heat flow. Conventional excitation of a sample is hereby done spatially, either planar (e.g. using a lamp) or local (e.g. using a focused laser) and temporally, either pulsed or periodical. In this work we combine a high power laser with a Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) allowing us to merge all degrees of freedom to a spatially and temporally controlled heat source. This enables us to exploit the possibilities of coherent thermal wave shaping. Exciting periodically while controlling at the same time phase and amplitude of the illumination source induces – via Absorption at the sample’s surface - a defined thermal wave propagation through a sample. That means thermal waves can be controlled almost like acoustical or optical waves. However, in contrast to optical or acoustical waves, thermal waves are highly damped due to the diffusive character of the thermal heat flow and therefore limited in penetration depth in relation to the achievable resolution. Nevertheless, the coherence length of thermal waves can be chosen in the mmrange for modulation frequencies below 10 Hz which is perfectly met by DMD technology. This approach gives us the opportunity to transfer known technologies from wave shaping techniques to thermography methods. The value of SHM is calculated utilizing the Bayesian pre-posterior decision analysis modelling the structural life cycle performance, the integrity management and the structural risks. The relevance and precision of SHM information for the reduction of the structural system risks and the expected cost of the structural integrity management throughout the life cycle constitutes the value of SHM and is quantified with this framework. The approach is focused on fatigue deteriorating structural steel systems for which a continuous resistance deterioration formulation is introduced. In a case study, the value of SHM for load monitoring is calculated for a Daniels system subjected to fatigue deterioration. The influence of and the value of SHM in regard to the structural system risks and the integrity management is explicated and explained. The results are pointing to the importance of the consideration of the structural system risks for the quantification of the value of SHM. For linear solids which obey the HOOKE's law, the material parameters determination from measurements is being examined. In many literature, see for example [2], parameters are iteratively tuned until the computed FEM results are in accordance with the measurements. In contrast to these debatable approaches, we follow a rigorous and direct method. The “classical” FEM procedure starts with known material constants and ends up with computed fields such as dis-placement or temperature field. We present a method to invert the FEM procedure using the most general least-squares adjustment – the GAUSS-HELMERT Model (GHM). From given fields, the material parameters are directly calculated. T1 - Aggregates scattering of GPR waves in concrete N2 - Time slices of very dense GPR measurements carried out at concrete with a real point distance of less than 10 mm in x and y direction show weak reflection patterns besides the strong reflections of reinforcements. A repetition of these measurements with the same local geometrical precision at the same specimen shows the same reflection pattem. We suppose that the heterogeneity of concrete given by aggregates (e.g. gravel, broken granite) causes local weak Scattering of the GPR waves and leads to reflection patterns in the GPR data. These reflection patterns can be explained by a Superposition of multiple scatterings of single aggregates. So far these reflection patterns have been not recognized in Standard time slices due to the large spacing (> 5 cm) between single profiles and because of the interpolation between the profiles. We investigate the characteristics of the volume scattering effects, caused by aggregates, at concrete blocks with two different grading curves. In a more general investigation we study the volume scattering of aggregates by using wooden boxes filled with only typical aggregates and an included defined reflector (metal plate). The thickness of the aggregate layer above the metal plate was varied between 20 cm and 40 cm. With a very dense measuring grid at the surface we are able to calculate the effective volume scattering and to analyze the distribution of the reflection amplitude of the included metal plate for different aggregate set-ups. Results of this study confirm that the weak reflection patterns in concrete can be explained by aggregate scattering and have a direct correlation to the penetration depth of GPR in concrete. T1 - Electrochemical investigations regarding the influence of deformation-induced martensite on the corrosion behaviour of austenitic stainless steels N2 - Contents of deformation-induced martensite in the lattice structure of austenitic stainless steels lead to an either beneficial or detrimental change of mechanical and magnetic properties depending on the prospective application. Whereas these changes are well-known and investigated widely the influence of deformation-induced martensite on the corrosion behaviour is frequently an issue of scientific discussions. There are opposing opinions that depend on the type of corrosion mechanism being investigated for example regarding pitting corrosion resistance in Chloride containing media. In it is stated that pitting resistance is not influenced by deformationinduced martensite while in it is discussed that more pitting occurs on martensitic structure. The same conflictive opinions appear regarding active dissolution in acidic media or intergranular corrosion. In addition, when having deeper insight into literature it can be concluded that even the type of test method, i. e. dynamic or static testing, has a big influence on the obtained results concerning the influence of martensite in austenitic stainless steels. The manufacturing process of the PC mPOF consists of multiple consecutive stages, such as casting of pol-ymer granulates into a solid rod, machining and drilling of a 3-ring hexagonal lattice of holes into it, and finally drawing into fiber. We demonstrate that the obtained PC mPOF is photosensitive and FBGs can be conveniently inscribed into it, thereby enabling FBG-based temperature and strain sensing. The PC optical fibers are for some applications an attractive alternative to conventional materials used in POF fabrication, such as polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Therefore hydrogen has to be detected, separated from other gases and stored. In this respect this thesis presents the combinatorial synthesis and characterization of the ternary Pd-Ni-Co alloy System over a wide composition range based on so-called thin film alloy libraries. Those libraries are model systems to characterize a large number of alloy compositions at the same time. The sputter-deposition process is optimized for the gradient of the Pd concentration on the surface of the alloy library by the use of electron-excited Auger electron spectroscopy. The scientific goal of this work is the experimental Investigation of adsorbate-induced surface segregation phenomena on alloy libraries. The surface and bulk compositions of an alloy library are studied after deposition, H2 exposure and H2S poisoning. The co-segregation of Ni and Co to the surface is observed. The segregation process is influenced by the oxidation of Ni and Co due to the contact with ambient air, by H2 and by H2S poisoning. Also at very high Pd concentrations in the range of 87 at.% to 97 at.%, which is interesting for the detection of very low H2-Concentrations in air, the co-segregation of Ni and Co takes place. The poisoning effects were investigated in detail on a pre-selected Pd-Ni-Co alloy by photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS, HAXPES) in addition to AES and EDX. The composition profile of the alloy on the nm scale is acquired and the surface and bulk chemistry is discussed before and after poisoning. The composition of the alloy only changed within the first 3 nm due to H2S exposure. In the ternary Pd-Ni-Co alloy system Pd is present in its metallic state, while Ni and Co show several oxidation states. The presented concepts of ternary alloy development pave the way for the systematic synthesis and characterization of new ternary transition metal alloy systems. N2 - To ensure the water quality in Europe, the European Commission asked the member states to provide comparable and traceable measurement results for the analysis of critical pollutants. Considering the increasing environmental challenges, the contribution of metrology is necessary both for the improvement of analysis reliability and the comparability of results. For this reason the European research project Euramet/EMRP/ENV08 “Traceable measurements for monitoring critical pollutants under the European Water Framework Directive (WFD-2000/60/EC)”, funded by the EMRP, aimed to provide the elements for the development of a metrological basis. The project develops primary reference methods enabling the analysis of priority hazardous substances in order to meet the WFD requirements in terms of performance levels (limit of quantification and uncertainties). Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) – priority hazardous substances for which no DCE compatible methods exist – are among the three families of pollutants targeted by the project. This paper tackles the development and validation of the PAH analysis method on whole water samples. The method that best meets the requirements of the WFD in terms of level of concentration and uncertainty is the solid phase extraction (SPE) method with SPE-disks, followed by isotope dilution analysis combined with gas chromatography mass spectrometry (ID-GC/MS). T1 - Aggregate reactivity and the efficiency of supplementary cementing materials N2 - The knowledge of dissolution processes of aggregates and supplementary cementing materials (SCMs) in alkaline solutions can help to describe the expansion of concretes caused by alkali-silica reaction (ASR) and the effects to avoid ASR by using SCMs in more details. Therefore, dissolution experiments in alkaline solutions under different pH values and different temperatures were performed using aggregates in the original grain size and SCMs in different ratios. The concentrations of soluble silica and additionally alumina were determined by ICP-OES. The investigations showed that up to now the “best” conditions to explain the damage behavior of concrete structures are a pH value of 13 (e.g. 0.1 M KOH solution) and a temperature of 80 °C. The evaluation bases on the parameter “excess silica” which is calculated from the dissolved silica and alumina of the aggregates and the SCMs. It was demonstrated that SCMs reduce and sometimes stop the dissolution of aggregates. The efficiency of the SCMs depends on their amount and chemical composition. T1 - On the mechanism of ASR inhibition by Si and Al containing SCMs N2 - The use of supplementary cementing materials (SCMs) added to concrete mixtures can avoid the alkali-silica reaction. Such materials have a wide range of composition and therefore the inhibition mechanisms can be very differently. The effectiveness of SCMs which provide silica and alumina into the alkaline solution cannot only be explained by reducing the OH--concentration of the pore solution. From dissolution experiments in potassium hydroxide solutions, an interaction was noted between the aggregate and five SCMs via the alkaline solution. Under specific conditions, no silica is released from the aggregate grains. Mineralogical investigations (XRD, SEM+EDX) of the grain surfaces confirm that quartz is the main source of silica. In the presence of alumina providing SCMs, the quartz dissolution is strongly reduced or even sometimes stopped. On surfaces of grains a very thin layer can be observed which is probably responsible for reduction or stopping of the silica dissolution and therefore for the inhibition of ASR. For 9-m drop test onto an unyielding target the drop orientation of the package must be chosen in a manner so that maximum damage occurs with regard to the safety criteria. With respect to leak tightness after drop test impacts a horizontal or slap-down orientated test model can cause a lateral displacement of the packaging’s lids, affecting the leakage rate of the closure lid system strongly. In Germany dual purpose casks with double lid sealing system composed of primary and secondary lid with bolts, metallic seals as well as cask body sealing surfaces are mainly used. Besides free drop tests with full-scale and half-scale models within licensing approval procedure BAM develops experimental testing methods to simulate defined stresses and deformations by means of components testing. In order to investigate the relation between lateral lid displacement and leakage rate, BAM performs impact tests with small scaled flange-lid systems of transport packages in a drop test machine for guided drop tests. The test setup is realized in a way that the flange part is fixed while a drop weight is impacting onto the lid’s edge. The dynamic displacement of the lid is measured simultaneously. Because of capturing the drop weight after first impact during a short rebound phase by pneumatic arrest mechanism a secondary impact on lid’s edge is excluded. The guided drop tests were accompanied by various measurements such as leakage rate recording during and after impact, identification of lateral shifting by electro-optical displacement transducer as well as decelerations of the lid and the impacting weight. This paper describes the test setup, the test and measurement techniques as well as first results concerning the relation between lateral lid displacement and leaktightness. Além do carregamento em uso, que pode variar de forma diferente do previsto (incremento de tráfego sobre uma ponte ou modificação de uso de um edifício, por exemplo), outra questão são as sobrecargas acidentais, como terremotos, inundações, etc. Todas estas incertezas fazem com que a uma previsão precisa da degradação da estrutura ao longo do tempo seja difícil (quase impossível). It is produced from pentosan-rich biomass via xylose cyclodehydration. The current FUR production uses homogeneous catalysts and steam. According to recent studies, the reaction mechanism is different in the presence of Lewis (L) or Brønsted (B) sites. In this work, partially hydroxylated MgF2 catalysts, containing bifunctional Lewis and Brønsted properties, were further functionalized using different fluorosulfonic precursors. Its main objective was to test these solids as catalysts for xylose conversion to furfural. Extensive characterization techniques using TG–MS, 19F-MAS-NMR, or pyridine adsorption confirmed the substitution of surface OH groups by stronger Brønsted sites. The activity data showed a considerable change of the reaction kinetics and a final furfural selectivity of 90% at 160 °C in water/toluene for optimized L/B ratios by the one-step grafting technique. Moreover, the reaction analyses and the change of conversion pathways were studied. Als Ergebnis wurde ein EDV-gestütztes Analysetool (Web-Tool) zur Nachhaltigkeitsbewertung für das Mauerwerksrecycling entwickelt. Mit dem Web-Tool sollen Anwender (Planer, Architekten, Recycler) die Möglichkeit erhalten, für verschiedene Untersuchungsfälle unter Einbeziehung regional und sachlich bedingter Parameter objektspezifische Aussagen zur Nachhaltigkeit treffen zu können. Materials compatibility is a major concern whenever the fuel composition is changed. The aim of this work is to study the interaction of the elastomers: FKM, EPDM, CR, CSM, NBR, IIR, VMQ and FVMQ and biofuels such as biodiesel (FAME), E85 (fuel with 85% ethanol) and B10 (heating oil with 10% biodiesel). Exposure tests were performed with test specimens at 40°C (104°F) and 70°C (158°F) for 84 days to document the changes in mass, volume and tensile properties according to ISO 1817. The exposure tests in E85 showed that the weight gain caused by swelling was in the range up to 12%. The lowest decrease in the tensile properties was determined for FKM, VMQ and IIR. The weight gain of the elastomers in biodiesel varied between 10% (FKM) and 126% (CSM) and the loss of tensile strength between 16% (FKM) and 100% (CSM) at 70°C (158°F). FKM and FVMQ absorbed much less B10 and swelled less. NBR, EPDM, CR, CSM, IIR and VMQ were not resistant to B10 at all as the decrease in the tensile properties was significantly over 50%. Among all of the elastomers FKM showed high compatibility with these biofuels up to 70°C (158°F). The requirements of the IAEA transport regulations SSR-6 for accident conditions implies high load on the containment system of Type B(U) packages. The integrity of the containment system has to be ensured under the mechanical and thermal tests. The containment system of German transport packages for spent nuclear fuel (SNF) and high level waste (HLW) usually includes bolted lids with metal gaskets. BAM Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing as the German competent authority for the mechanical and thermal design assessment of approved transport packages has developed the guideline BAM-GGR 012 for the analysis of bolted lid and trunnion systems. According to this guideline the finite element (FE) method is recommended for the calculations. FE analyses provide more accurate and detailed information about loading and deformation of such kind of structures. The results allow the strength assessment of the lid and bolts as well as the evaluation of relative displacements between the lid and the cask body in the area of the gasket groove. This paper discusses aspects concerning FE simulation of lid systems for SNF and HLW transport packages. The work is based on the experiences of BAM within safety assessment procedures. The issues considered are the assessment methods used in the BAM-GGR 012 for bolted lid systems along with the nominal stress concept which is applied for bolts according to that guideline. Additionally, modeling strategies, analysis techniques and the interpretation of the results are illustrated by the example of a generalized bolted lid systems under selected accident conditions of transport. In accordance with the present strategy in Germany, which is characterized by searching for appropriate final repository areas, only the dry interim stor� age facilities are available for storage nuclear waste of the decommissioned plants as well as the operating plants. Therefore, the transportation and the storage casks must be available for both types of light water reactors. But for the time being this is the bottleneck. Unfortunately the prognoses are neglecting the fact, that such a high number of casks are needed in a very short space of time. This requires the acceleration of formal activeness in relation to the li� censes but also an increase of the production. In the meanwhile to get this process started, the only possibility is the storage in the pools at the plant site. Anyway, for the time being, this is one of the problems for dismantling the eight plants which have been shut down due to the decision of the Government, which is now fixed in the last amended German Atomic Energy Act dated 24th of February 2012. Starting to dismantle in the radioactive regions of the plants requires empty pools. For emptying the pools of damaged SNF special procedures regarding the transportation and storage are necessary. The transportation of damaged SNF requires special casks or at least special procedures and therefore also a special licenses. In recent years BAM was involved in several licensing procedures of new spent fuel and HLW package designs, where the cask body is of Ductile Cast Iron (DCI). According to IAEA regulations package designs have to fulfill requirements for specific conditions of transport. Type B(U) packages must withstand the defined accident conditions of transport. The temperature range from -40°C up to the operational temperature has to be considered. For the cask material DCI, it is necessary to determine safety against brittle fracture. The German guideline BAM-GGR 007 defines requirements for fracture mechanics of packagings made of DCI. Due to complex cask body structure and the dynamic loading a fracture mechanical assessment by analytical approaches is not always possible. Experience of recent design approval procedures show that the application of numerical calculations are applicable to determine the stresses and stress intensity factors in the cask body. At the first step a numerical analysis has to be done to identify the loading state at the whole cask body. Secondly an analysis of a detail of the cask body is made considering the displacement boundary conditions of the global model. An artificial flaw is considered in this detailed model to calculate the fracture mechanical loading state. The finite element mesh was strongly refined in the area of the flaw. The size of the artificial flaw is based on the ultrasonic inspection acceptance criteria applied for cask body manufacture. The applicant (GNS) developed additional analysis tools for calculation of stress intensity factor and/or J-Integral. The assessment approach by BAM led to the decision to develop own tools to the possibility for independent proof of the results. The paper describes the authority assessment approach for DCI fracture mechanics analysis. The validation procedure incl. the development of own tools is explained. BAM developed a postprocessor to determine the fracture mechanical loads. A horizontal 1 m puncture bar drop test is used to give a detailed description of the assessment procedure. For that purpose metal seals of specific types with an inner helical spring and outer metal liners are widely used and have shown their excellent performance if certain quality assurance requirements for fabrication and assembling are satisfied. Well defined surface roughness, clean and dry inert conditions are therefore essential. No seal failure in a loaded cask happened under these conditions until today. Nevertheless, the considered and licensed Operation period is limited and all safety assessments have been performed and approved for this period of time which is 40 years in Germany so far. But in the meantime longer storage periods might be necessary for the future and therefore additional material data will be required. BAM is involved in the qualification and evaluation procedures of those seals from the early beginning. Because long-term tests are always time consuming BAM has early decided to perform additional tests with specific test seal configurations to gain a better understanding of the long-term behavior with regard to seal pressure force, leakage rate and useable resilience which is safety relevant mainly in case of accidental mechanical loads inside a storage facility or during a subsequent transport. Main test parameters are the material of the outer seal jacket (silver or aluminum) and the temperature. This paper presents the BAM test program including an innovative test mock-up and most recent test results. Based on these data extrapolation models to extended time periods are discussed, and also future plans to continue tests and to investigate seal behavior for additional test parameters are explained. Exactly in that year 1978 the development and testing of the CASTOR casks started in Germany, with the intention to use these transport casks for interim storage of spent fuel. After involvement in the first full-scale drop tests of those large spent fuel casks for transport package design approval, the official assessment as storage cask started. At the beginning of that new decommissioning technology a series of storage demonstration programs were conducted; most interesting were cases where a cask was loaded in a NPP with fuel assemblies instrumented with thermocouples, equipped with a first lid penetrated by instrumentation cables, closed by a second lid, transported to a research institute and stored there for 2 years, with verification of maximum cladding temperatures and leak-tight closure. In 1982 the basis BAM expert reports for the licensing of CASTOR casks in away-from-reactor storage sites Gorleben and Ahaus were finished. The first cask loading for interim storage was performed in Switzerland in 1983; that CASTOR Ic-Diorit cask, 30 years of age, is the “grandfather” of all dual purpose casks. In 1984, a remarkable transport accident happened, the sinking of the “Mont-Louis” with 30 48-Y-UF6 containers; BAM shortly before had issued the approval for a tank container that could be used for the recovery of some these UF6 containers. The 90s saw the full-scale drop tests with the POLLUX multi� purpose cask design ( for transport, interim storage, final disposal), drop test series with new transport packages for fresh fuel assemblies including the “French puncture drop”, finally a spectacular BLEVE blast onto a CASTOR cask. 2004 we were proud to host the PATRAM conference, the second time in Berlin. For the Technical Tours BAM performed drop tests with two full scale SNF casks (the largest ones tested world-wide) at our new 200 t drop test facility. In the meantime a lot of other assessment experience, e.g. in ductile iron brittle fracture, numerical calculations, radwaste disposal container testing etc. was stacked. Changes in safety assessment methodology over the last decades will briefly be addressed. The design of these “dual purpose casks” has to be assessed and approved to transport regulations (based on IAEA SSR-6), and to be assessed within the storage facility licensing procedure. Although the transport cask design differs from the storage cask design, e.g. by use of impact limiters, the majority of cask components is identical for both. Differences occur also in the acceptance criteria; these are for the transport case defined in IAEA SSR-6, and have to be developed for the storage case based on the storage conditions. Considering transport after several decades of storage requires the implementation of ageing behavior into the transport safety case. Additionally the transport package design safety case has to be maintained in an up-to-date state, considering potential regulatory changes and development of scientific and technical knowledge. The review of a transport package design safety case has to be done periodically, implemented in periodic re-assessment for extension of the package design approval certificate. The review process (as a kind of “intellectual periodic inspection”) should be part of the approved applicant’s management system. From experience we have seen that stability of regulatory requirements for Type B(U) packages was not a major problem, but consideration of ageing and developments regarding the state-of-the-art technology can cause necessary adjustments of specific technical evaluation, with the result of confirmation of package safety, or with the development of appropriate compensatory measures to reach the required level of safety. T1 - Overview of the IAEA's joint working group on integrated safety case for dual purpose casks N2 - Spent nuclear fuel is generated from the operation of nuclear reactors and needs to be safely managed following its removal from reactor cores. Spent nuclear fuels are usually stored in a reactor pool for a short period of time after defueling, and then they are shipped to its next destination for reprocessing, disposal, or further storage. In some countries, a concept of Dual Purpose Cask (DPC) is considered as an attractive option for further storage. This is because of that the concept increases flexibility for storage capacity, as well as its economic efficiency that can reduce the complexity of handling highly radioactive spent fuels. The management of spent fuel using a DPC involves storage of spent fuel as well as on-site and off-site transportation before and after storage. Most countries require package design approval for the DPC to be transported. In addition, it is required in many countries to have a license for storage of the spent fuel in the DPC or a license for a storage facility that contains DPCs. Therefore, demonstration of compliance of the DPC with national and international transport regulations as well as with the storage requirements is necessary. In June 2010, the IAEA organized “International Conference on Management of Spent Fuel from Nuclear Power Reactors”. In this conference, many countries expressed their interest on harmonizing both transport and storage safety cases for DPCs that has a possibility to establish an effective and integrated regulatory framework in a holistic manner. Taking into account the increasing needs among Member States, the IAEA set up a new working group following the conference to discuss how to develop an integrated safety case for both transportation and storage.This activity is planned to be completed in 2013. Currently, a technical report is being prepared as an outcome of this activity. In this paper, the IAEA’s approach to demonstrate the safety of DPCs in a holistic manner is described first, followed by the overview of the draft document. It also presents the difference between the conventional transport cask concept and the DPC concept. Reliable finite element models should be developed by assembling verified sub-models of components. T1 - German approach and experience feedback of transport ability of SNF packages after interim storage N2 - In Germany the concept of dry interim storage of spent fuel in dual purpose metal casks is implemented, currently for periods of up to 40 years. The casks being used have an approved package design in accordance with the international transport regulations. The license for dry storage is granted on the German Atomic Energy Act with respect to the recently revised “Guidelines for dry interim storage of irradiated fuel assemblies and heat-generating radioactive waste in casks” by the German Waste management Commission (ESK). For transport on public routes between or after long term interim storage periods, it has to be ensured that the transport and storage casks fulfil the specifications of the transport approval or other sufficient properties which satisfy the proofs for the compliance of the safety objectives at that time. In recent years the validation period of transport approval certificates for manufactured, loaded and stored packages were discussed among authorities and applicants. A case dependant system of 3, 5 and 10 years was established. There are consequences for the safety cases in the Package Design Safety Report including evaluation of long term behavior of components and specific operating procedures of the package. Present research and knowledge concerning the long term behavior of transport and storage cask components have to be consulted as well as experiences from interim cask storage operations. Challenges in the safety assessment are e.g. the behavior of aged metal and elastomeric gaskets under IAEA test conditions to ensure that the results of drop tests can be transferred to the compliance of the safety objectives at the time of transport after the interim storage period. Prevention of damage is of major economic and social importance in the development of suitable construction materials such as concrete and asphalt. Therefore a non-destructive testing method such as CT is an appropriate tool for visualization of the inner structure. Its combination with other test methods allows understanding the damage processes such as crack propagation or corrosion. We show examples of internal structure analyses on a wide range of materials: Automatic 3D crack detection and the visualization of corrosion products inside of steel reinforced concrete, pore and shape analysis of lightweight aggregates and the visualization of deformation of high-pressure loaded aerated concrete specimens, distribution of aggregates inside concrete, and determination of the surface of porous asphalt core samples. Die Übertragung der Lokalisierung direkt auf die Betonoberfläche stellte sicher, dass keinen Informationsverluste an die nachfolgenden Aufgaben auftraten. Das zweite Beispiel zeigt den Nutzen von Automatisierung und Kombination von Verfahren. Damit können dem Auftraggeber die notwendigen Angaben über Einbauteile mit großer Detaitreue und leicht verständlicher Visualisierung aufbereitet werden. Der abschließende Bericht zeigt, wie vorhandene Auswertungen sinnvoll durch noch in der Forschung befindliche Ansätze bereichert werden. Insgesamt ist die zerstörungsfreie Prüfung in der Lage, an Brücken preisrelevante Fragestellungen zu lösen. This results in corrosion fatigue and so inevitably the reduction of the lifetime of these components. Also in the field of the carbon dioxide storage technology (carbon capture and storage CCS) components are exposed to a corrosive environment and mechanical stress. In order to gain knowledge upon the corrosion fatigue strength of materials a corrosion chamber for "in situ" conditions was designed and successfully applied.Two different steels X46Cr13 and X5CrNiCuNb16-4 have been tested and their corrosion fatigue behavior was compared. To simulate the frequency of operating pumps (30 – 40 Hz) a resonant testing machine was used. In addition technical CO2 was introduced into the closed system at a rate close to 9 L/h to keep stable environmental conditions. The samples have a surface roughness of Rz = 4 to simulate technical machined surfaces. The calculated tensile strength of X46Cr13 with soft annealed microstructure (coagulated cementite in ferrite-perlite matrix) is about 680 MPa and the yield strength is about 345 MPa. The tensile strength of X5CrNiCuNb16-4 is about 1078 MPa and the yield strength about 928 MPa. Testing parameters are: corrosion media: saline aquifer water (Stuttgart Aquifer) temperature of the brine at 60 °C and load ratio of R=-1. For X46Cr13 a stress amplitude between 160 MPa to 270 MPa and for X5CrNiCuNb16-4 a stress amplitude between 150 to 500 was chosen. Cycles until crack initiation differ strongly and were found to start at 5 x 104 up to 12.5 x 106 cycles.X46Cr13 has reached a maximum number of cycles (12.5 x 106) at a stress amplitude of 173 MPa. X5CrNiCuNb16-4 has reached the maximum number of cycles (10 x 106) at a stress amplitude of 150 MPa. The range of scatter for X5CrNiCuNb16-4 is very high (1:34) in comparison the range of scatter for X46Cr13 (1:3.5). This leads to corrosion fatigue and reduces the lifetime of certain components. Usually underwater power pumps are placed inside the borehole. In this case an installation depth of 600 to 800 meters below ground level is typical. In these depths an additional load due to high pressure and high temperature is introduced which is based on geothermal brine. Therefore the material which is used for the pump is steel.For fatigue testing at loads existing in deep geological layers an appropriate system for fatigue tests under in-situ conditions was set up. The requirements of the design are: temperature of the corrosion medium of 200 °C pressure of 200 bars and the complete immersion of the specimen in flowing corrosion medium containing mixtures of corrosive gasses during the entire test period.The test system has three main components the corrosion chamber the heating module and the reservoir. It is important that the corrosion chamber is only fixed onto the specimen which allows for highest flexibility of the test system operational in many different test machines. The heating module heats the corrosion medium up to 200 °C. The reservoir make sure that the volume of the corrosion medium satisfies requirements of the DIN 50905 Part 1 is conformed providing minimum required corrosive medium of 10 ml/cm² in relation to the sample surface.This innovative fatigue test system aims at performing in- situ fatigue corrosion tests simultaneously at high pressure and high temperature in liquid and gaseous corrosive environment. Reasons for applying the FEM are complex geometry, specific load distribution and the violation of application criteria for analytical approaches. For example the elementary beam theory is not suitable for the calculation of compact trunnions and the Kirchhoff plate theory is not suitable for the calculation of lids with a large thickness to diameter ratio because the Bernoulli-hypothesis is violated. In addition for structural integrity assessments often local stress and for the evaluation of lid systems tightness local contact opening are needed, which can be obtained only through accurately discretized numerical models. Independent comparative calculations are essential for complex calculations. Simplified but appropriate analytical approaches are an efficient way of examination. Is it possible to provide conservative analytical estimates of such kind of analysis problems? Are analytical calculations an appropriate approach in today's authority assessment business? Using the example of bolted trunnion and lid systems of a heavy package the possibilities and limits of analytical comparative calculations are shown. Daher ersetzt man bei der Verwendung von Prüfgasverfahren das Betriebsmedium durch ein spezifisch nachweisbares Prüfgas. Für die Interpretation eines quantitativen Messergebnisses ist es notwendig, die Ist-Leckagerate mit einer zuvor berechneten Grenzleckagerate (maximal zulässige Leckagerate) zu vergleichen. Entspricht das für die Dichtheitsprüfung verwendete Prüfgas nicht dem Betriebsmedium, so ist hierfür eine Umrechnung von Leckageraten notwendig. Es wird ein Überblick über für die Dichtheitsprüfung gängige Prüfgase, deren Eigenschaften sowie Vor- und Nachteile gegeben.
