Die Auswertung von Korrelationen aus der Literatur zur Abschätzung der Scherwellengeschwindigkeit aus Drucksondierdaten zeigt, dass bei homogenen Sandböden die Verteilung der Scherwellengeschwindigkeit über die Tiefe sehr gut wiedergegeben werden kann. Die Korrelationen haben dabei die Tendenz, den tatsächlichen Wert zu überschätzen. In den vorliegenden Fällen haben sich Überschätzungen zwischen 20 % und 50 % ergeben. Mit zunehmendem Feinkornanteil werden die Unsicherheiten aus den Korrelationen jedoch größer. T2 - 7. Sie beruht auf den Greenschen Funktionen (Punktlastlösungen) für inhomogene Böden. Diese Lösungen können auch für die Wellenausbreitung in der Tiefe, zum Beispiel von einem Bahntunnel zu einem eingebetteten Gebäude, dem Kellergeschoss benutzt werden. Die Punktlastlösungen in der Tiefe werden mit der Halbraumlösung an der Bodenoberfläche und mit der Vollraumlösung verglichen und Gesetzmäßigkeiten für geschichtete Böden abgeleitet. Zu den Pfahlgründungen werden die Horizontalnachgiebigkeiten von Pfählen in geschichteten Böden dargestellt. Für den homogenen und den kontinuierlich steifer werdenden Boden werden Potenzgesetze für den Boden- und Pfahleinfluss aufgestellt. Der Vergleich mit dem Winkler-Modell der rein lokalen Bodenreaktion zeigt, dass die Winkler-Bettung in allen Fällen einen zu kleinen Bodeneinfluss ergibt. T2 - 7. T1 - Korynetes caeruleus (coleoptera: cleridae) for biological control of anobium punctatum (coleoptera, ptinidae) N2 - Larvae and adults of Korynetes caeruleus (de Geer 1775) (Coleoptera: Cleridae) were collected from old churches and reared in the laboratory on Anobium punctatum (de Geer 1774) (Coleoptera, Ptinidea, formerly Anobiidae). Breeding success of K. caeruleus was low, but basic parameters of this species’ developmental cycle were identified. At 21 °C and 75 % relative humidity and a four-month cold period at 4 °C, the development of K. caeruleus from egg to adult appearance lasted 2 years. The pupal stage may be reached and completed after one and a half years. Feeding on larvae of A. punctatum by larvae of K. caeruleus was observed and consisted of a combination of sucking haemolymph and consuming body parts. The sickle-like mandibles of larvae of K. caeruleus penetrate the cuticle of prey larvae followed by pumping and sucking body movements. Adult beetles of A. punctatum were not attacked by K. caeruleus larvae. Feeding behavior of adult K. caeruleus was not investigated. N2 - The self-ignition behaviour of bulks is usually determined with the aid of isoperibolic or adiabatic hot storage tests; the sample volumes here are typically in the range of approx. 100 cm³ to several litres. The extrapolation to technically relevant volumes holds, however, considerable uncertainties. To reduce these uncertainties, a test stand was set up that allows to investigation sample sizes of up to 1000 dm³. These allow the study of selfignition behavior closer to the conditions that prevail in practice. The suitability (or unsuitability) of the established methods (including dangerous goods classification tests) were to be demonstrated and influencing variables that cannot be measured on a laboratory scale were to be determined. In addition, various analytical methods were used for the determination of reaction kinetic data of solid bulk materials and to predict the self-ignition behaviour of large storages. These are thermal analyses such as differential scanning calorimetry DSC, simultaneous thermal analysis STA as well as microcalorimetry for highprecision measurement of heat flows. Complete test series using all mentioned test methods will be presented for crosslinked polyvinyl-pyrrolidone (PVP) and conclusions regarding the applicability of the extrapolation methods will be discussed. Hot storage tests up to semi-industrial scale and their combination with various thermoanalytical methods allow a much more precise prediction of the self-ignition behaviour of large bulks. A further promising approach to estimate their heat release rates, and hence, the risk of self-ignition under technical conditions, is the use of microcalorimetric methods. Size resolved sampling of the emitted particles was done with a 13 stage (30 nm to 10 µm) low pressure cascade impactor. The sampled particles were analysed for their chemical composition by thermal extraction (vaporization at 290°C) followed by GC-MS analysis. High boiling cyclic siloxanes (D10 to D16) were detected as constituents of UFP from laser printers. In comparison to measurements in 2008, aliphatic long-chain alkanes (C22 to C34) were detected additionally as chemical constituents of UFP from most of the tested printers and their amounts were higher than for cyclic siloxanes. T1 - Screening of two plant-derived extracts from Sri Lanka for their potential to control the subterranean termite Coptotermes formosanus N2 - The tropical environment of Sri Lanka accelerates bio-deterioration of cultural objects. Termites are one of the most damaging insect pests destroying the cellulose components of historical artifacts. Herbal extracts obtained from resin of Vateria copallifera (Retzius) Alston and seeds of Madhuca longifolia (Konig) Macbride have been used for centuries to preserve e.g. palm leaf manuscripts from insect attack. Herbal extractions of these traditional products for palm leaf manuscript were tested for their effect against the termite species Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki, 1909. Natural and artificial aged herbal extractions were tested to obtain a repellent index. Resin oil of V. copallifera caused slightly higher repellencies than M. longifolia. Artificially aged samples produced lower repellencies than naturally aged samples. The results indicate that the active ingredients are volatile. The potential for barrier treatment was tested only with V. copallifera. Tunnelling-behavior of C. formosanus workers through sand in the presence of V. copallifera resin oil was largely reduced. They release heat and generate charge carriers, which leads to two effects. The first effect is the generation of acoustic waves due to heat release, known as the thermoacoustic effect, and the second effect is the perturbation of the resting fluid provoked by the release of charge carriers, called “ionic wind”. The direct connection between the charge carrier production of the discharge arrangement and the surroundings also allows the detection of acoustic waves by tracking the electrical current of the arrangement. This contribution introduces a multi-fluid model approach to describe the acoustic interaction of atmospheric plasmas.
