A1 - Unger, Wolfgang T1 - Gram-scale production of high quality nanographene under mild conditions and doping via non-destructive covalent functionalization N2 - We report a new method for top-down one-pot, gram-scale production of high-quality nanographene from graphite under mild conditions. The nanographene sheets had a very low oxygen content, comparable to that of nanographene grown by chemical vapor deposition. This method is easily scalable and comparatively mild, opening the door to an environmentally friendly process to produce high-quality nanographenes. Nanographene sheets were further covalently functionalized using a non-destructive [2+1] cycloaddition reaction that left the π-conjugated system intact.
