An international study conducted by BAM reveals significant variation in digitalization among Germany's conformity assessment bodies (https://opus4.kobv.de/opus4-bam/frontdoor/index/index/docId/59765). While laboratories see digitalization as an opportunity, most are still in the early stages of digital maturity, facing challenges such as: complexity, costs, staff, and lack of uniform interfaces and standards. To better understand expectations, needs, and experiences, QI-Digital held workshops with over 100 participants and first results are available in this publication. This ongoing dialogue is vital to ensuring that digital QI evolves in a way that is both practical and aligned with the dynamic needs of the industry. As laboratories navigate the diverse challenges of innovation, digital transformation becomes not just an option, but a powerful opportunity to stay ahead in a market that thrives on new, innovative, and digitally driven competitors.
