T1 - Metallo-supramolecular nanospheres via hierarchical self-assembly N2 - A novel coordination oligo/polymer is synthesized by metal-directed self-assembly from equimolar amounts of the (dppp)M(OTf)2 precursor complexes (dppp = bis-(diphenylphosphino)-propane, OTf = triflate; M = PdII or M = PtII) and banana-shaped bidentate dipyridyl ligands. The assemblies were characterized by ESI mass spectrometry and NMR spectroscopy. The analysis of the cloudy suspension prepared by dissolving the coordination polymer in aqueous methanol solutions indicates nanosized spherical objects to form. Evidence for vesicle formation from these metallo-supramolecular oligomers comes from (cryogenic) transmission electron microscopy (TEM, cryo-TEM). Atomic force microscopy revealed stable nanospheres on hydrophilic mica and monolayer formation on hydrophobic highly oriented pyrolitic graphite (HOPG) substrates. On mica, also torus-shaped object were observed, which are rationalized by vesicles that opened during the drying procedure and released the internal solvent. Elemental analysis of the nanoassemblies by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicates uncoordinated and coordinated pyridines in the coordination polymers that form the nanospheres. Various control experiments using different metal centers and modified ligands support the conclusions. Linear and planar defects within individual grains may affect substantially the performance of the device. These defects are closely related to strain distributions. The present work compares electron and X-ray diffraction as well as Raman microspectroscopy, which provide access to microstrain distributions within individual grains. CuInSe₂ thin films or solar cells are used as a modelsystem. High-resolution electron backscatter diffraction and X-ray microdiffraction as well as Ramanmicrospectroscopy were applied for this comparison. Consistently, microstrain values were determined of the order of 10⁻⁴ by these three techniques. However,only electron backscatter diffraction, X-ray microdiffraction exhibit sensitivities appropriate for mapping local strain changes at the submicrometer level within individual grains in polycrystalline materials. T1 - Laser shock peening: A NbC based cermet enhancement alternative for improved GCI interrupted face-milling N2 - Attempts were made to improve the properties and machining performance of NbC based cermet cutting inserts for face milling of grey cast iron (GCI) (BS 1452/GG35) by spark plasma sintering (SPS), use of sub-stoichiometric NbC (NbC₀ˏ₈₈), Cr₃C₂ and Mo₂C additives and laser shock peening (LSP). The microstructure, hardness, fracture toughness and Young’s modulus of WC–Co, NbC₀ˏ₈₈-Co and NbC₀ˏ₈₈-Ni cermet-based inserts were investigated for machining performance. Additions of Mo₂C and manufacture by SPS significantly refined the NbC₀ˏ₈₈-Ni/Co cermet’s carbide grain size from ~5.0 μm to <0.9 μm, which increased the hardness (by ~4GPa) and wear resistance. Laser shock peening (LSP) improved the fracture toughness of all the inserts, from 10% (in the SPS WC based in cermets) to ~100% (in the LPS NbC based cermets). Uncoated cutting inserts were manufactured from the sintered cermets in an SNMA (double sided square insert without a chipformer on the cutting edge) shape (12.7 × 12.7 × 4.3 mm³, 1.6 mm nose radius). The inserts were used for interrupted face-milling of GCI at cutting speeds (ν˛) ranging from 100 m/minute (400 rpm)–500 m/minute (2000 rpm) and depths of cut (ɑₚ) of 0.2–1.0 mm. The insert wear was measured after every pass and analyzed by annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy (ADF-STEM). Cutting temperatures were measured with a high-speed thermal camera and forces were measured using a Kistler dynamometer. During machining at ν˛ = 200 m/minute and ɑₚ = 1.0 mm, WC–Co inserts had the lowest flank wear rate (FWR), although LSP significantly improved the tool life of the NbC₀ˏ₈₈-Ni inserts, significantly reducing the FWR from 148.63 μm/minute to 99.79 μm/minute (by ~33%) and the average resultant force from 1257 ± 15 N to 535 ± 15 N. During machining at ν˛ = 500 m/minute and ɑₚ = 0.2 mm, LSP significantly lowered the FWRs of the NbC₀ˏ₈₈ inserts, giving better tool life than all the WC based inserts. Generally, LSP improved the NbC₀ˏ₈₈ inserts’ tool life, reducing the flank wear rate by up to 33% during roughing and 63% during finishing. The constructed fiber artefact consists of a lead-in fiber coupled to a fiber loop using a 3-dB coupler and is used to calibrate both a home-build Brillouin-OTDR setup and a custom version of a commercial Brillouin-OTDR interrogator build for distributed temperature sensing. For both interrogators, we demonstrate distance calibrations with 1-meter uncertainty (k=1) in the offset length and 0.1 % (1 m/km) uncertainty (k = 1) in the distance scale factor. Two different ω-amino-4,4'-terphenyl substituted alkanethiols of the general structure H2N-(C6H4)3-(CH2)n-SH (ATPn) were used: 2-(4''-amino-1,1':4',1''-terphenyl-4-yl)ethane-1-thiol (n = 2, ATP2) and 3-(4''-amino-1,1':4',1''-terphenyl-4-yl)propane-1-thiol (n = 3, ATP3). Moreover, the addressability of amino groups within the films was investigated by chemical derivatization of ATPn SAMs with 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl isothiocyanate (ITC) forming fluorinated thiourea ATPn-F films. Evaluation of high-resolution C 1s and N 1s XPS data revealed successful derivatization of at least 50% of surface amino species. T1 - Critical review of the current status of thickness measurements for ultrathin SiO2 on Si - Part V: Results of a CCQM pilot study N2 - Results are reported from a pilot study under the Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance (CCQM) to compare measurements of and resolve any relevant measurement issues in, the amount of thermal SiO2 oxide on (100) and (111) orientation Si wafer substrates in the thickness range 1.5 - 8 nm. As a result of the invitation to participate in this activity, 45 sets of measurements have been made in different laboratories using 10 analytical methods: medium-energy ion scattering spectrometry (MEIS), nuclear reaction analysis (NRA), RBS, elastic backscattering spectrometry (EBS), XPS, SIMS, ellipsometry, grazing-incidence x-ray reflectrometry (GIXRR), neutron reflectometry and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The measurements are made on separate sets of 10 carefully prepared samples, all of which have been characterised by a combination of ellipsometry and XPS using carefully established reference conditions and reference parameters. The results have been assessed against the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) data and all show excellent linearity. The remaining data sets correlate with the NPL data with average root-mean-square scatters of 0.15 nm, half being better than 0.1 nm and a few at or better than 0.05 nm. Each set of data allows a relative scaling constant and a zero thickness offset to be determined. Each method has an inherent zero thickness offset between 0 nm and 1 nm and it is these offsets, measured here for the first time, that have caused many problems in the past. There are three basic classes of offset: water and carbonadeous contamination equivalent to ~1 nm as seen by ellipsometry; adsorbed oxygen mainly from water at an equivalent thickness of 0.5 nm as seen by MEIS, NRA, RBS and possibly GIXRR; and no offset as seen by XPS using the Si 2p peaks. Each technique has a different uncertainty for the scaling constant and consistent results have been achieved. X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy has large uncertainties for the scaling constant but a high precision and, critically, if used correctly, has zero offset. Thus, a combination of XPS and the other methods allows the XPS scaling constant to be determined with low uncertainty, traceable via the other methods. XPS laboratories returning results early were invited to test a new reference procedure. All showed very significant improvements. The reference attenuation lengths thus need scaling by 0.986 ± 0.009 (at an expansion factor of 2) deduced from the data for the other methods. Several other methods have small offsets and, to the extent that these can be shown to be constant or measurable, then these methods will also show low uncertainty. Recommendations are provided for parameters for XPS, MEIS, RBS and NRA to improve their accuracy. The particles were synthesized through the Brust/Schiffrin route with a subsequent ligand exchange reaction yielding well-defined particles of two different sizes. Multilayer deposition was carried out on a pyridine-terminated SAM, anchored on a hydroxyl-terminated silicon surface. Analogously, Hunter/Vögtle-type tetralactam macrocycle multilayers were deposited as well as mixed layers containing both either in an alternating sequence or as a macrocycle multilayer with a terminating nanoparticle layer. These composite layers were examined with respect to their ability to bind squaraine axles in the macrocycle cavities. The amount of guest bound is higher for the composite layer with alternating macrocycles and nanoparticles. ED - Resch-Genger, Ute ED - Schneider, Ralf T1 - pH and concentration dependence of the optical properties of thiol-capped CdTe nanocrystals in water and D2O N2 - The optical properties of semiconductor nanocrystals (SC NCs) are largely controlled by their size and surface chemistry, i.e., the chemical composition and thickness of inorganic passivation shells and the chemical nature and number of surface ligands as well as the strength of their bonds to surface atoms. The latter is particularly important for CdTe NCs, which – together with alloyed CdₓHg₁₋ₓTe – are the only SC NCs that can be prepared in water in high quality without the need for an additional inorganic passivation shell. Aiming at a better understanding of the role of stabilizing ligands for the control of the application-relevant fluorescence features of SC NCs, we assessed the influence of two of the most commonly used monodentate thiol ligands, thioglycolic acid (TGA) and mercaptopropionic acid (MPA), on the colloidal stability, photoluminescence (PL) quantum yield (QY), and PL decay behavior of a set of CdTe NC colloids. As an indirect measure for the strength of the coordinative bond of the ligands to SC NC surface atoms, the influence of the pH (pD) and the concentration on the PL properties of these colloids was examined in water and D₂O and compared to the results from previous dilution studies with a set of thiol-capped Cd₁₋ₓHgₓTe SC NCs in D₂O. As a prerequisite for these studies, the number of surface ligands was determined photometrically at different steps of purification after SC NC synthesis with Ellman’s test. Our results demonstrate ligand control of the pH-dependent PL of these SC NCs, with MPA-stabilized CdTe NCs being less prone to luminescence quenching than TGA-capped ones. For both types of CdTe colloids, ligand desorption is more pronounced in H₂O compared to D₂O, underlining also the role of hydrogen bonding and solvent molecules. T1 - Antibacterial and degradable thioimidazolium poly(ionic liquid) N2 - New antibacterial agents are urgently required to fight the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. We recently synthesized the first thioimidazolium ionene, which has antibacterial properties and can degrade in various media. This dual functionality is crucial in order to limit the environmental impact of these biocides. We have found that our polymer is stronger than benzalkonium chloride (BAC) against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and also readily degrades in the presence of base, while remaining stable in acidic environments. These results highlight a new emerging class of antibacterial degradable polymers. The potential release of PFAS from accumulating electronic waste and lithium-ion battery (LIB) recycling activities has gained increasing attention in the past years. This creates a need for analytical methods tailored for the determination of PFAS out of environmental matrices related to the named activities or directly out of the concerned materials. In this work, analytical strategies for the monitoring of PFAS in LIB recycling materials were explored for a group of legacy perfluoro sulfonic- and carbonic acids (PFSA and PFCA) and of fluorinated sulfonylimides suspected to be LIB electrolyte ingredients. These analytical strategies comprehend PFAS target approaches with a herein optimized liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) method equipped with a HILIC (hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography) column in combination with the TOP (total oxidizable precursor) assay and an adapted sample preparation method for high-matrix LIB recycling materials. The validated target method was applied to a set of LIB recycling materials: end-of-life batteries, black masses from hydrometallurgical recycling, and gas absorption solutions from thermal treatment of black masses as part of the recycling procedure. Investigation results show that the LIB industry can be connected to the release of both “LIB”-PFAS, such as the target sulfonylimides, and “already-legacy” PFAS, like the PFSA and PFCA. Especially, the presence of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) as an emerging pollutant in every investigated LIB material type underlines the threat of PFAS emissions from LIB waste and recycling activities. In this work, we report on a metal-assisted and solvent-mediated reaction between calcium carbide and cyanuric chloride, as cheap and commercially available precursors, to synthesize two-dimensional triazine structures (2DTSs). The reaction between the solvent, dimethylformamide, and cyanuric chloride was promoted by calcium carbide and resulted in dimethylamino-s-triazine intermediates, which in turn undergo nucleophilic substitutions. This reaction was directed into two dimensions by calcium ions derived from calcium carbide and induced the formation of 2DTSs. The role of calcium ions to direct the two-dimensionality of the final structure was simulated using DFT and further proven by synthesizing molecular intermediates. The water content of the reaction medium was found to be a crucial factor that affected the structure of the products dramatically. While 2DTSs were obtained under anhydrous conditions, a mixture of graphitic material/2DTSs or only graphitic material (GM) was obtained in aqueous solutions. Due to the straightforward and gram-scale synthesis of 2DTSs, as well as their photothermal and photodynamic properties, they are promising materials for a wide range of future applications, including bacteria and virus incapacitation. The microstrain values within individual CuInSe2 grains were determined to be of the order of 10^-4. T1 - In Vivo Near-infrared Fluorescence Imaging of Carcinoembryonic Antigen-expressing Tumor Cells in Mice N2 - Purpose: To prospectively depict carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)-expressing tumors in mice with a high-affinity probe consisting of a near-infrared (NIR) fluorochrome and the clinically used anti-CEA antibody fragment arcitumomab. Materials and Methods: This study was approved by the regional animal committee. By coupling a NIR fluorescent (NIRF) cyanine dye (DY-676) to a specific antibody fragment directed against CEA (arcitumomab) and a nonspecific IgG Fab fragment, a bio-optical high-affinity fluorescent probe (anti-CEA–DY-676) and a low-affinity fluorescent probe (FabIgG–DY-676) were designed. The dye-to-protein ratios were determined, and both probes were tested for NIRF imaging in vitro on CEA-expressing LS-174T human colonic adenocarcinoma cells and CEA-nonexpressing A-375 human melanoma cells by using a bio-optical NIR small-animal imager. In vivo data of xenografted LS-174T and A-375 tumors in mice (n = 10) were recorded and statistically analyzed (Student t test). Results: The dye-to-protein ratios were determined as 3.0–3.5 for both probes. In vitro experiments revealed the specific binding of the anti-CEA–DY-676 probe on CEA-expressing cells as compared with CEA-nonexpressing cells; the FabIgG–DY-676 probe showed a markedly lower binding affinity to cells. In vivo LS-174T tumors xenografted in all mice could be significantly distinguished from A-375 tumors with application of the anti-CEA–DY-676 but not with that of the FabIgG–DY-676 at different times (2–24 hours, P < .005) after intravenous injection of the probes. Semiquantitative analysis revealed maximal fluorescence signals of anti-CEA–DY-676 to CEA-expressing tumors about 8 hours after injection. Conclusion: Findings of this study indicate the potential use of the high-affinity probe anti-CEA–DY-676 for specific NIRF imaging in in vivo tumor diagnosis. Ball-milling of these ingredients together with iron oxide and graphite provided model materials displaying the main features of real third bodies. Solid lubricants like graphite affected the friction and wear behaviour of Fe3O4 powders considerably whereas further addition of hard nanoparticles induced only minor effects. This was corroborated by comparison with modelling results. MoS2 played a dual role. Depending on special conditions, this ingredient either reduced or increased friction. The latter could be explained, after nanoscopic characterization, by oxidation and destruction of the wear-protecting tribofilm. Carbohydrate microarrays are valuable tools to investigate interactions with other molecules since many glycans are involved in fundamental biological processes. A combined X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) surface analysis was used to investigate the basic steps in the production of carbohydrate microarrays. The preparation included coupling of a thiol-terminated mannoside to maleimide-functionalized glass surfaces derived from γ-aminopropyl silane (GAPS) slides. XPS results clearly demonstrate successful chemical modification in each fabrication step, and ToF-SIMS imaging revealed immobilized carbohydrates in the spotted regions of the final microarray. Allen drei Beispielen gemeinsam ist die Verwendung kommerzieller Geräte. Diese werden von verschiedenen Anbietern bereitgestellt. Eine weitere Gemeinsamkeit ist, dass die Grundgeräte durch zusätzliche Maßnahmen ergänzt. Erst dann ist der gewünschte Untersuchungserfolg sicher gestellt. Im ersten Beispiel wurde die vom Auftraggeber geforderte Präzision dadurch erreicht, dass systematische Voruntersuchungen stattfanden. Die Übertragung der Lokalisierung direkt auf die Betonoberfläche stellte sicher, dass keinen Informationsverluste an die nachfolgenden Aufgaben auftraten. Das zweite Beispiel zeigt den Nutzen von Automatisierung und Kombination von Verfahren. Damit können dem Auftraggeber die notwendigen Angaben über Einbauteile mit großer Detaitreue und leicht verständlicher Visualisierung aufbereitet werden. Der abschließende Bericht zeigt, wie vorhandene Auswertungen sinnvoll durch noch in der Forschung befindliche Ansätze bereichert werden. Insgesamt ist die zerstörungsfreie Prüfung in der Lage, an Brücken preisrelevante Fragestellungen zu lösen. The strategy of combining different detection principles, i.e. sensors based on electrochemical cells, semiconductors or field effects in combination with thermal conductivity sensor or catalytic combustion elements, in one new measuring system is reported. This extends the dynamic measuring range of the sensor while improving sensor reliability to achieve higher safety integrity through diverse redundancy. Samples were charged electrochemically and subsequently analysed by means of neutron radiography and tomography. The radiographic images allowed for a time-resolved analysis of hydrogen fluxes. The three-dimensional distribution of hydrogen measured by neutron tomography delivered valuable information for the damage analysis of hydrogen-induced cracks. For the first time hydrogen concentration gradients inside the material could be detect directly together with the cracks. The neutron radiography and tomography results were gained at the Research Reactor BER II of the HZB in Berlin. Ein Konzept für die Prüfunsicherheitsbestimmung von zerstörungsfreien Prüfsystemen N2 - Häufig stellt sich die Frage, ob eine Materialinhomogenität kritisch für die strukturelle Integrität eines Bauteils ist. Dies ist häufig abhängig von der Größe und der Geometrie dieser Materialinhomogenität. Während die korrekte Bestimmung einer Defektgröße zweifelsfrei eine Messaufgabe darstellt, ist die Detektion eines Materialdefekts die Hauptaufgabe eines Prüfsystems. Allerdings sind manche Defekte zu klein, um detektiert zu werden. Es ist jedoch schwierig, etwas zu bemessen, was nur schwer gefunden werden kann, stellen sowohl die Detektion als auch die Fähigkeit den Defekt zu bemaßen, Teile der der Bewertung eines Prüfsystems dar. Die vorliegende Publikation beschäftigt sich zum einen mit der Notwendigkeit, die Auffindwahrscheinlichkeit von Prüfverfahren zu bewerten, und zum anderen mit den Schritten, mit denen das Konzept der Prüfunsicherheitsbewertung national und international vorangetrieben wird. Final werden die Methoden evaluiert, die den Schulterschluss zwischen Prüf- und Messunsicherheitsbestimmung ermöglichen. Durch die unterschiedlichen Herangehensweisen werden oft unterschiedliche Prüfkopfpara-meter und Schallfeldgrößen ermittelt, was einen direkten Vergleich von Datenblättern erschwert. Für die Charakterisierung von Kontakt- und Tauchtechnikprüfköpfen hat sich ISO 22232-2:2021 bereits etabliert, allerdings ist diese Norm nicht auf die luftgekoppelten Wandlertechnologien direkt übertragbar. Daher erkannten Hersteller, Forschungseinrichtungen und Anwender den Bedarf an einer Richtlinie zur einheitlichen Charakterisierung von luftgekoppelten Wandlern. Gemeinsam arbeiten sie aktuell im Rahmen des Unterausschusses „Luftgekoppelte Ultraschallprüfung“ der DGZfP an der Erstellung einer solcher Richtlinie mit dem Anspruch, die bestehende Normung um die luftgekoppelte Prüfung zu erweitern und somit die Vereinheitlichung der Charakterisierung dieser Wandler zu erleichtern. In diesem Beitrag wird ein Überblick über den geplanten Inhalt der Richtlinie und über die Methoden zur akustischen Charakterisierung von luftgekoppelten Ultraschallwandlern gegeben. T1 - Der Unterschied zwischen Simulation und Praxis – Einfluss von Toleranzen im Ultraschallprüfsystem und deren Berücksichtigung N2 - Bei der simulationsunterstützten Planung kritischer Ultraschallprüfaufgaben ist die detaillierte Kenntnis der Parameter der eingesetzten Prüfköpfe von entscheidender Bedeutung. Durch die, in den Regelwerken (DIN EN ISO 22232-2) zugelassenen Toleranzen bei der Herstellung der Prüfköpfe sind einige Prüfkopfparameter nur ungefähr bekannt. Durch die Alterung von Prüfköpfen und Verschleiß können auch Parameter variieren, die nicht vollständig durch die erforderliche Justierung ausgeglichen werden können. Daher sind zusätzlichen Vorversuche oft unvermeidlich. In dieser Arbeit wurden nach einer statistischen Versuchsplanung (DoE) Untersuchungen zur relativen Echo-Empfindlichkeit von konventionellen Prüfköpfen durchgeführt. Die Auswertung wurde für prüfkopfbezogene und personenbezogene Stichproben durchgeführt. Es wird gezeigt, wie weit die Daten um den Zentralwert herum verteilt sind bzw. wie sehr sich das Testobjekt im untersuchten Merkmal unterscheidet. Gerade in Hinblick auf die Beurteilung der intrinsischen Fähigkeit von Prüfverfahren und der Human Factors wird das POD-Analysekonzept zur quantitativen Bewertung der Zuverlässigkeit weiterentwickelt. Die HF-Quantifizierung bezieht sich auf verschiedene Faktoren und Methoden, die in der Veröffentlichung von M. Bertovic et al. [1] ausführlich beschrieben wurden. Die Schritte, die für das Bewertungsverfahren zur POD-Analyse erforderlich sind, werden in der Veröffentlichung von D. Kanzler et al. [2] detailliert dargestellt. Die grundlegenden Anforderungen an die Testkörpersätze für die POD-Analyse wurden in der Publikation von A. Jüngert et al. [3] zusammengefasst. Diesbezüglich wurden mit Hilfe von Simulationsrechnungen die möglichen Abweichungen an Beispielen der im Projekt norm- POD ausgewählten Prüfanordnungen dargestellt. Konzeption und Herstellung von Testkörpersätzen und Prüfvorschriften für die experimentelle Zuverlässigkeitsbestimmung von ZfP-Prüfansätzen N2 - Im Rahmen des WIPANO Vorhabens „normPOD“ wird eine Richtlinie zur experimentellen und simulationsgestützten Zuverlässigkeitsbewertung erstellt. In der Richtlinie wird die Zuverlässigkeitsbewertung beispielhaft für zwei praktische Anwendungsfälle vorgestellt. Ein Anwendungsfall beschäftigt sich mit konventionellen Ultraschallprüfungen an ferritischen Stählen und deren Schweißnähten. Zur Berechnung von Probability-Of-Detection (POD)-Kurven ist es notwendig, dass ein geeigneter Testkörpersatz zur Verfügung steht, der sowohl leicht zu findende Fehlstellen als auch Fehlstellen, die an der Grenze der Detektierbarkeit liegen, enthält. Im Vorhaben kommen verschiedene Testkörper zum Einsatz, die entweder Ersatzfehler wie Nuten und Bohrungen oder künstlich eingebrachte realistische Fehlstellen wie Risse und Schweißfehler enthalten. Zur Erstellung eines möglichst allgemeinen Leitfadens zur Testkörperherstellung für die Zuverlässigkeitsbewertung werden verschiedene Möglichkeiten betrachtet. Es wird ein Testkörpersatz mit Ersatzfehlern hergestellt und durch Testkörper mit realistischen Fehlstellen ergänzt. Mit Hilfe von Simulationen mit CIVA sollen die optimalen Konfigurationen und Anordnung von realistischen Fehlstellen und Ersatzfehlern identifiziert, und anschließend mithilfe geeigneter Fertigungsverfahren eingebracht und validiert werden. Neben den Testkörpern, die gezielt für das Vorhaben hergestellt werden, kommen außerdem kommerziell erhältliche Testkörpersätze mit realistischen Fehlstellen zum Einsatz. Die Prüfaussage einer Ultraschallprüfung hängt weiterhin wesentlich von den Informationen ab, die dem Prüfpersonal vor Ort zur Verfügung steht. Es muss ein ausgewogenes Maß zwischen zu wenig und zu viel Informationen gefunden werden. Im letzten Schritt wird deshalb eine geeignete Vorlage für eine Prüfanweisung erstellt, die so formuliert ist, dass die Wahrscheinlichkeit menschlicher Fehler (z. B. Missverständnis, Fehlinterpretation, Überspringen von Schritten usw.) möglichst gering ist. T1 - Lasst uns mal POD standardisieren! N2 - Seit beinahe 50 Jahren werden Zuverlässigkeitsbewertungen zerstörungsfreier Prüfverfahren erfolgreich in unterschiedlichen Industriebranchen eingesetzt. Dennoch gibt es weiterhin viele Vorbehalte, da die Bewertungsgrundlage nicht standardisiert ist und konkrete Handlungsanweisungen fehlen. Dem gegenüber steht die Anerkennung in der ZfP-Community. Es ist bisher nur Wenigen bekannt, dass dem Wissen über die Zuverlässigkeit eines zerstörungsfreien Prüfverfahren eineSchlüsselfunktion für die ZfP 4.0 zukommt. Im Vortrag wird die Notwendigkeit für eine Norm oder eine Richtlinie zum Thema Zuverlässigkeitsbewertungen aufgezeigt. Es wird darauf eingegangen, warum es bisher (in Deutschland) noch keine Richtlinie gab und gibt und was der:die Anwender:innen aus einer Richtlinie zur Zuverlässigkeitsbewertung von ZfP-Prüfverfahren erwarten kann. Es werden konkrete Schritte und Vorgehensweisen zur Bewertung der Zuverlässigkeit eines Verfahrens aufgezeigt; von der Definition eines Anwendungsfalls, über die Herstellung geeigneter Testkörper bis hin zur Durchführung und Bewertung von Prüfungen unter Einbeziehung von menschlichen Einflüssen. Die Beispiele umfassen sowohl Anwendungen aus dem Bauwesen als auch aus dem Maschinen- und Anlagenbau. Der Vortrag fasst die bisherigen und geplanten Arbeiten in dem WIPANO Projekt „Normung für die probabilistische Bewertung der Zuverlässigkeit für zerstörungsfreie Prüfverfahren“ zusammen. In this work, the irreversible three-component Doebner reaction is utilized to synthesize four chemically stable quinoline-4-carboxylic acid DMCR-COFs (DMCR-1−3 and DMCR-1NH) equipped with an acid−base bifunctionality. These DMCR-COFs show superior photocatalytic H2O2 evolution (one of the most important industrial oxidants) compared to the imine COF analogue (Imine-1). This is achieved with sacrificial oxidants but also in pure water and under an oxygen or air atmosphere. Furthermore, the DMCR-COFs show high photostability, durability, and recyclability. MCR-COFs thus provide a viable materials’ platform for solar to chemical energy conversion. In the course of this reaction, a novel photoswitchable binding station with azobenzene as the photoswitchable unit and diketopiperazine as the binding station was synthesized and studied by NMR and UV/Vis spectroscopy. Glass surfaces have been functionalized with pyridine-terminated SAMs and subsequently withmultilayers of macrocycles through layer-by-layer self assembly. A preferred orientation of the macrocycles could be confirmed by NEXAFS spectroscopy. The photocontrolled Deposition of the axle into the surface-bound macrocycle-multilayers was monitored by UV/Vis spectroscopy and led to an increase of the molecular order, as indicated by more substantial linear dichroism effects in angle-resolved NEXAFS spectra. T1 - Raman spectroscopy on thin films for solar cells N2 - In the present chapter, the capabilities of Raman spectroscopy for the advanced characterisation of thin films for solar cells are reviewed. Raman spectroscopy is an optical, nondestructive technique based on the inelastic scattering of photons with elemental vibrational excitations in the material. The line shape and position of the Raman bands are determined by the crystalline structure and chemical composition of the measured samples, being sensitive to the presence of crystalline defects, impurities and strain. Presence of peaks characteristic of different phases also allows for the identification of secondary phases that are strongly related to the growth and process conditions of the films. All these aspects account for a strong interest in the analysis of the Raman spectra, providing a powerful nondestructive analytical tool for the structural and chemical assessment of the films. In addition, the combination of a Raman spectrometer with an optical microscope also allows for achieving a high spatial resolutions (of below 1 µm) when mapping surfaces and analyzing depth-resolved phase distributions in thin films. The present chapter is divided into four main sections: The two first ones are devoted to a revision of the Fundamentals of Raman spectroscopy (Section 17.2) and Vibrational modes in crystalline materials (Section 17.3). Section 17.4 deals with the main experimental considerations involved in the design and implementation of a Raman scattering setup. This is followed by a detailed description of the application of Raman scattering for the structural and chemico-physical analysis of thin film photovoltaic materials (Section 17.5), with the identification of crystalline structure and secondary phases, evaluation of film crystallinity, analysis of chemical composition of semiconductor alloys, characterisation of nanocrystalline and amorphous layers, stress effects and crystal orientations. Compared to other heptazine-based materials, which are typically prepared at high temperatures and have recently received much interest as metal-free photocatalysts, the low-temperature protocol applied here allows the defined introduction of organic functional groups within the polymer backbone. The structure of HMP-3 contains alternating heptazine and benzothiadiazole moieties as electron acceptors connected by aminobenzene bridges as electron donors. The resulting material leads to enhanced hydrogen evolution compared to graphitic carbon nitride materials prepared at high temperatures (>500 8C) most probably because of the stabilization of photogenerated charge carriers in the D–A structure. Within that frequency range, the relaxation effect that consists of the space charge (SC) and the dipolar (D) polarization mechanisms were identified. The contribution of the D relaxation in MZT0 – MZT0.2 systems extents overall from about 100 Hz to 330 MHz, while that in MZT0.3 – MZT0.5 systems is from 50 kHz to 330 MHz. The remaining frequencies, i.e. from 1 to 90 Hz for MZT0 – MZT0.2 and from 1 Hz to 50 kHz for MZT0.3 – MZT0.5, are attributed to the SC relaxation. The D polarization mechanism provides constant epsilon' r values which vary from (15.4 – 17.0) ± 0.3 throughout the samples. Contribution of the SC polarization mechanism to the characteristic is supported by the simultaneous presence of different content and level of resistivity of the secondary phase of (Mg1-αZnα)2TiO4 in MZT0 – MZT0.2 systems and of (Zn1-αMgα)2TiO4 in MZT0.3 – MZT0.5, along with the presence of the main Mg1-x Zn x TiO3 phase, as a result of the variation of zinc content in the systems. T1 - Innovative Optimierung der Ultraschallprüfung an Radsatzwellen N2 - Betriebsbedingte Belastungen und eventuelle Oberflächenschädigungen einer Radsatzwelle können zu deren Versagen führen. Daher besteht die Notwendigkeit zur vorbeugenden Prüfung mit Hilfe zerstörungsfreier Prüfverfahren. Zurzeit setzt die Deutsche Bahn AG mechanisierte Ultraschall-Prüfsysteme (HPS-Anlagen) bei Radsatzwellen mit Längsbohrung ein. Die Prüfung erfolgt an den im Fahrzeug eingebauten Radsatzwellen. Diese Prüfanlagen nutzen feste Einschallwinkel. Die Nachweisempfindlichkeit liegt bei 2 mm tiefen Vergleichsfehlern für die Querfehlerprüfung. Zur Detektion der Querfehler werden positionsabhängige Blenden im A-Bild eingesetzt. Physikalisch bedingt können aber auch Unregelmäßigkeiten in der Beschichtung, aufgepresste Komponenten und andere Einflüsse zu einer Blendenüberschreitung und somit zu einer Befundung der Radsatzwelle führen. Die konventionelle Prüftechnik erlaubt dabei keine Unterscheidung zwischen diesen sogenannten Scheinanzeigen und den Querfehlern. Ein Radsatztausch mit anschließender Demontage zur Ermittlung der Anzeigenursache ist in diesen Fällen daher derzeit unvermeidlich. Die von der DB Systemtechnik und Partnern untersuchte Phased-Array-Technik mit SAFT-Auswertealgorithmus (Synthetic Aperture Focussing Technique) soll helfen, die UT-Anzeigen besser bewerten zu können und den unnötigen Radsatzwechsel zu vermeiden. Das Ziel des UT-SAFT-Verfahrens ist es, die Tiefenkomponente von Rissen über das Rissspitzensignal zu detektieren und auswertbar zu machen. Durch eine nachgeschaltete UT-SAFT-Analyse soll an befundeten Radsatzwellen nachuntersucht werden, ob die Anzeigen der Reflektorpositionen innerhalb des Wellenvolumens, auf der Grenzfläche oder außerhalb des Wellenvolumens liegen. Es wird erwartet, dass durch die zeitnahe Bestimmung der Anzeigenursache die erforderlichen Radsatzwechsel deutlich reduziert werden. Dadurch ist eine Erhöhung der Fahrzeugverfügbarkeit und eine Kostenreduzierung (Reduzierung des Aufwandes für Radsatzausbau, Radsatztransport, Nachprüfung und Aufarbeitung der Radsätze) erreichbar. The mechanical prototype testing is intended to demonstrate that the package DN30 complies with regulatory requirements under normal and hypothetical accident conditions of transport (NCT, ACT) relevant to IF, AF and B(U)F packages, respectively. The paper includes the results of the latest test campaign carried out in 2015-2016 at the drop test facility of BAM, Germany with new full scale prototypes of the DN30 PSP and 30B cylinders. Repetition of drop test sequences became necessary after changing to Polyisocyanurate foam as shock absorbing material with variable foam densities. Furthermore, the mechanical behavior of the UF6 content of the 30B cylinder is now simulated by a mixture of cement and steel grid as modified surrogate material; instead of small steel balls. The behavior of this new content simulation is assumed to be more realistic with respect to the properties of real UF6. In this study a series of self-assembled aliphatic and aromatic monolayers on gold substrates with terminal amino groups was investigated. Four different thiol molecules were used: aliphatic 11-aminoundecane-1-thiol (AUDT), aromatic 4-aminobenzenethiol (ABT) and aromatic ω-amino thiols with an alkyl spacer as 4-aminophenylbutane-1-thiol (APBT) and 3-(4''-amino-1,1':4',1''-terphenyl-4-yl)propane-1-thiol (ATPT). Evaluation of N 1s XPS data revealed that on the aromatic self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) amino groups exist preferentially as primary amines, whereas on the aliphatic SAM protonated and/or hydrogen-bonded amines are the major species. This result is crosschecked by N K edge near edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy and can be rationalised by the different basicity of aliphatic and aromatic amines. A1 - Unger, Wolfgang T1 - Determination of accessible amino groups on surfaces by chemical derivatization with 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl isothiocyanate and XPS/NEXAFS analysis N2 - The determination of amino groups on surfaces capable of binding biomolecules is important for the understanding and optimization of technologically relevant coupling processes. In this study, three different types of amino-functionalized model surfaces, amino thiolate on Au, amino siloxane on Si, and polyethylene (PE) foils and films reacted with 1,2-diaminoethane (DAE) were derivatized with 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl isothiocyanate. Subsequently, these samples were analyzed by chemical derivatization X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (CD-XPS) and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (NEXAFS). The determination of amino groups by this analytical approach allows gaining insight into the availability of groups on surfaces that can actually serve as attachment sites for biomolecules in technical applications. In the case of the amino thiolate on Au, almost 90% of the expected amino groups were detected by CD-XPS. Investigation of the amino siloxane films revealed lower yields for the derivatization reaction in the order of 30%. The lowered reaction yields are thought to be due to interactions between the amino siloxane`s amino and silanol groups or the underlying substrate, making them inaccessible to the derivatization agent. The aminated PE samples are characterized by a complex surface chemistry and structure, and reaction yields of the derivatization reaction cannot be unequivocally derived. However, 1-3% of the total carbon atoms in the surface layer were found to be bound to amino groups accessible to the derivatization agent. It can be concluded that, depending on the detailed character of the investigated amino-terminated surface, the amount of amino groups accessible to CD-XPS can be substantially lower than the total amount of amino groups present at the surface.
