Many calibration and measurement procedures, however, rely on certified reference materials (CRMs) to obtain metrological traceability, especially in the broad field of chemical analysis. The metrological information of those reference materials is also provided in the form of certificates, and hence, their digitization bears the same automatization potential for quality assurance and traceability as the DCC itself. Although fairly similar, a reference material certificate contains some different information, and has a variable structure and proprietary requirements compared to a calibration certificate, as it is based on the dedicated ISO 33401 standard (formally known as ISO Guide 31) rather than the ISO/IEC 17025. Accordingly, the established DCC-schema does not fully fit the purpose of machine-readable reference material certificates. At the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), we started to adapt the DCC-schema in order to derive a dedicated schema for CRM certificates. For the seamless digital description of its certified values and their uncertainties, the newly developed schema also utilizes the Digital SI and thus provides a direct link to BIPM’s digital reference point for a global harmonization of metrological quantities. Furthermore, the schema will also be suitable for non-certified reference materials in order to form a common data structure for digital reference material documents (DRMD) in general. As a validated XML report, the DRMD is also compatible with established digital security and verification infrastructure, such as electronic seals and the novel digital accreditation symbol. In this presentation we will highlight some of the essential differences between reference material documents and calibration certificates, but also point out their similarities, which well justify the derivation of the DRMD-Schema from the DCC. In addition to the metrological traceability and quality assurance, further automatization use cases by means of DRMDs are presented, ranging from database maintenance to machine learning for automated analytics. The Digital Reference Material Document (DRMD) project at BAM introduces a transformative approach by converting traditional RM certificates/documents into machine-interpretable, XML-based digital assets. Building on the Digital Calibration Certificate framework, DRMDs encode ISO 33401 requirements and integrate semantic standards like D-SI and material identifiers. These digital documents support automated data exchange, integration into laboratory systems, and interoperability e.g. via asset administration shells and data spaces. T1 - A review on stretchable magnetic field sensorics N2 - The current establishment of stretchable electronics to form a seamless link between soft or even living materials and the digital world is at the forefront of multidisciplinary research efforts, bridging physics, engineering and materials science. Magnetic functionalities can provide a sense of displacement, orientation or proximity to this novel formulation of electronics. This work reviews the recent development of stretchable magnetic field sensorics relying on the combination of metallic thin films revealing a giant magnetoresistance effect with elastomeric materials. Stretchability of the magnetic nanomembranes is achieved by specific morphologic features (e.g. wrinkles or microcracks), which accommodate the applied tensile deformation while maintaining the electrical and magnetic integrity of the sensor device. The entire development, from the demonstration of the world’s first elastically stretchable magnetic sensor to the realization of a technology platform for robust, ready-to-use elastic magnetosensorics is described. Soft giant magnetoresistive elements exhibiting the same sensing performance as on conventional rigid supports, but with fully strain invariant properties up to 270% stretching have been demonstrated. With their unique mechanical properties, these sensor elements readily conform to ubiquitous objects of arbitrary shapes including the human skin. Stretchable magnetoelectronic sensors can equip soft and epidermal electronic systems with navigation, orientation, motion tracking and touchless control capabilities. A variety of novel technologies, like electronic skins, smart textiles, soft robotics and actuators, active medical implants and soft consumer electronics will benefit from these new magnetic functionalities. The most significant challenge is to establish a unique and harmonized DCC scheme, especially within the communities of specific measurement quantities. Here, we focus on the key aspect of refTypes within DCCs, and present recommendations and good practices developed by the DCC working group from the technical committee for temperature and humidity quantities within the German Calibration Service (DKD). Storage of process and quantity information relies on so called refTypeattributes which associate specific meanings to particular information in the DCC architecture. The meanings of some distinguished quantity-specific refTypes are described in this work. For various information that are specific to calibration certificates for temperature and humidity quantities, dedicated good practice implementations in XML are provided, e.g. self-heating, hysteresis as well as the calibration medium and the temperature scale used. Furthermore, the statement of the ambient conditions, that are included in almost any DCC is presented on the example of the ambient temperature. Hence, all necessary information according to ISO/IEC 17025 and the DKD-R 5-1 calibration rule is provided in a machine-readable and machine-interpretable form. For the automated DCC generation, a self-implemented middleware is compiling the metadata (i.e. customer-, order-, item- and method data) and combines it with the measured calibration data and influence conditions into a process- and lab-specific DCC template. This DCC software is able to handle both, single probe calibrations (e.g. Pt 100) as well as measurement chains (e.g. thermometers and temperature loggers) and also supports multiple item calibrations with the automated creation of individual DCC files. All generated DCCs can be readily validated against the DCC scheme (v.3.2.1). The validated and authorized DCCs are equipped with the novel digital accreditation symbol, that was recently piloted with the German national accreditation body (DAkkS), to form `eAttestations´. This advanced electronic seal with a qualified certificate, after successful validation by the receiver, provides three basic functionalities in a DCC: 1. Authenticity: It confirms that the issued certificate actually originates from the BAM calibration laboratory (D-K-11075-08) 2. Integrity: It protects all the data and information in the DCC from change and manipulation 3. Accreditation: It verifies the active accreditation status of the issuing body at the time of sealing (authorization) Thus, this accreditation seal can fully replace an electronic signature on an accredited DCC. In order to demonstrate the added value of DCCs also on the receiver side, the BAM DCC-team started to develop a simple but capable DCC demonstrator. For the use case of thermal process monitoring, the software reads out the metrological data of an incoming DCC, performs a linear regression of the temperature calibration values, uses the obtained calibration function to correct the raw sensor readings, extends the DCC measurement uncertainty values with further contributions (e.g. from the correction and the hysteresis) and adjusts the process-defined acceptance limits to account for the measurement uncertainty, all in real-time. Hence, it automatically utilizes a DCC to obtain metrological traceability and a quality-assured process conformity assessment, practically at the push of a button. In the talk, the automated DCC generation in the scope of our accreditation, including the electronic sealing with the digital accreditation symbol, as well as the one-click DCC utilization with our demonstrator will be presented.
