    <title language="eng">Federal approval of legacy waste containers for the Konrad repository - strategies and challenges</title>
    <abstract language="eng">The approval of an increasing number of legacy waste containers for the Konrad re-pository is expected in the next years. While well documented young legacy waste containers can rather easily be approved, the assessment is challenging for contain-ers which were manufactured some decades ago. All parties have to work closely together to find a specifically fitted strategy for such approvals.&#13;
Thereby, rework of documents and requalification can be a promising approach. Details about three basic strategies have been shown to give a hint which options are available.
