TY - CONF A1 - Wehrstedt, Klaus-Dieter T1 - Energetic substances of chemical industries - Basic principles and Overview N2 - Reactive (energetic) organic substances and mixtures may be identified based on the structure particularly by the present groups in molecule associated with explosive or self-reactive properties (examples are e.g. acetylenes, azides, azo compounds, peroxides, etc.). To characterize explosive properties of such substances and mixture many international accepted test methods are available. Exemplary test results are explained and the following classifications according to international regulations for hazardous substances and dangerous goods are discussed. Measures to avoid critical conditions during manufacturing, handling, storage and transport are explained and accidents are analysed.
