In countless buildings of the post-war period they determine the lighting effect of the space by its function as luminous walls. A peculiar kind of stained glass from partially filigree compositions of two such contrasting materials: delicate, luminous glass and rough, austere concrete. Artistically designed components, which are equipped with a range of stylistic subtleties. But even after o short time of exposure a whole catalogue of damage patterns has been revealed, which documents the decay processes, such as the carbonation initiated corrosion of reinforcement. Cathodic protection is already used in a wide range of repair of concrete structures. Taking into account technical and historical preservation requirements, this research project aims to transfer these techniques to the conservation of concrete-glazing under less health risk, cost and work effort.
