Optimisation of a construction machine vibro displacement column
- The Vibro Displacement Column (VDC) is one of the most widely-used techniques in ground improvement. The present design of the column is exposed to high stresses from the soil during operation. There has been an increased fracture failure on basic parts of this VDC which has led to increase the downtime in construction projects. The major points of failures are identified and analyzed. Optimized design is presented after undergoing functionality experiments.
