Numerical simulation of the behavior movement of floating structures

  • The sea levels are rising and floods all over the world threats the infrastructure. The settlement of water will be a solution during the near future. We should recognize the risks for building envelops and settlements by the new boundary conditions, for instance, offered by the direct contact by the water and water moving. The moving building ground requires a manifold ad-aptation of the structure. In the paper are demonstrated the affects of water waves on floating houses installed on former open cast mines. The pictures of destroyed accesses to such subjects show the necessary of the investigations of affects of water waves to the floating houses. In order to reduce the experimental activities, it should be done by means of numerical simula-tion. It is carried out by means of modern computing equipment and the software ANSYS FLUENT, ANSYS MECHANICAL FSI and ANSYS AQWA. For the validation are available a hydraulic test channel with a dimension of 15m x 5m, a floating platform near the harbor of Großräschen Sea and floating houses inThe sea levels are rising and floods all over the world threats the infrastructure.
