A1 - Hirschl, Bernd T1 - Value Added by PV Installations in The Netherlands (2015): A Modeling Approach T2 - 33rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition, EU PVSEC 2017, Proceedings of the international conference held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 25 September - 29 September 2017 N2 - Renewable energy installations stimulate the economy through the monetary flows of salaries, profits and taxes, as well as job creation. The WeBEE model created by the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) to quantify value added and employment effects generated by RE technologies in Germany was adapted to reflect the Dutch economy. It was then used to calculate the value-added to the Dutch economy due to the photovoltaic (PV) in 2015, the most recent year for which complete economic data was available. To understand how the value added is distributed, it is broken down into components on two levels: the adminstrative level, i.e., the municipal, provincial and national level; as well as on the level of value chain elements, such as manufacturing, planning or installation.
