We correlate these properties in terms of localized intrinsic electronic defect states which are resolved by resonant photoelectron spectroscopy measurements. We describe SnO₂ in terms of an inhomogeneous, mixed-ionic-covalent semiconductor in which these intrinsic electronic defects state are stabilized.
