Bio-based polyurethane foams, pristine and reinforced with 40 wt\% of sustainable fillers, were depolymerized in the presence of bio-derived butane-1,4-diamine, BDA. A process comparison was made using fossil-derived ethane-1,2-diamine, EDA, by varying amine/polyurethane ratio (F/A, 1:1 and 1:0.6). The obtained depolymerized systems were analyzed by FTIR and NMR characterizations to understand the effect of both diamines on the degradation pathway. The use of bio-based BDA seemed to be more effective with respect to conventional EDA, owing to its stronger basicity (and thus higher nucleophilicity), corresponding to faster depolymerization rates. BDA-based depolymerized systems were then employed to prepare second-generation bio-based composite polyurethane foams by partial replacement of isocyanate components (20 wt\%). The morphological, mechanical, and thermal conductivity properties of the second-generation polyurethane foams were evaluated. The best performances (σ10 \%=71 ± 9 kPa, λ = 0.042 ± 0.015 W∙ m-1 ∙K-1) were attained by employing the lowest F/A ratio (1:0.6); this demonstrates their potential application in different sectors such as packaging or construction, fulfilling the paradigm of the circular economy.}, language = {en} } @misc{HantelmannFritzscheMichailovetal., author = {Hantelmann, Cord and Fritzsche, Sebastian and Michailov, Vesselin and Boywitt, Ralf and Risse, Steffen and Paulinus, Dietmar}, title = {Utilisation of aluminium foam sandwich components in welded structures}, series = {Welding and Cutting}, journal = {Welding and Cutting}, number = {5}, issn = {1612-3433}, pages = {317 -- 325}, language = {en} } @misc{MaiMarschmeyerPeczeketal., author = {Mai, Christian and Marschmeyer, Steffen and Peczek, Anna and Kroh, Aleksandra and Jose, Josmy and Reiter, Sebastian and Fischer, Inga Anita and Wenger, Christian and Mai, Andreas}, title = {Integration Aspects of Plasmonic TiN-based Nano-Hole-Arrays on Ge Photodetectorsin a 200mm Wafer CMOS Compatible Silicon Technology}, series = {ECS Transactions}, volume = {109}, journal = {ECS Transactions}, number = {4}, issn = {1938-5862}, doi = {10.1149/10904.0035ecst}, pages = {35 -- 46}, abstract = {In this work we present the progress in regard to the integration of a surface plasmon resonance refractive index sensor into a CMOS compatible 200 mm wafer silicon-based technology. Our approach pursues the combination of germanium photodetectors with metallic nanohole arrays. The paper is focused on the technology development to fabricate large area photodetectors based on a modern design concept. In a first iteration we achieved a leakage current density of 82 mA/cm2 at reverse bias of 0.5 V and a maximum optical responsivity of 0.103 A/W measured with TE polarized light at λ = 1310 nm and a reversed bias of 1 V. For the realization of nanohole arrays we used thin Titanium nitride (TiN) layers deposited by a sputtering process. We were able to produce very homogenous TiN layers with a thickness deviation of around 10 \% and RMS of 1.413 nm for 150 nm thick TiN layers.}, language = {en} } @misc{NeyretLeProvostBoesingetal., author = {Neyret, Margot and Le Provost, Ga{\"e}tane and Boesing, Andrea Larissa and Schneider, Florian D. and Baulechner, Dennis and Bergmann, Joana and Vries, Franciska T. de and Fiore-Donno, Anna Maria and Geisen, Stefan and Goldmann, Kezia and Merges, Anna and Saifutdinov, Ruslan A. and Simons, Nadja K. and Tobias, Joseph A. and Zaitsev, Andrey S. and Gossner, Martin M. and Jung, Kirsten and Kandeler, Ellen and Krauss, Jochen and Penone, Caterina and Schloter, Michael and Schulz, Stefanie and Staab, Michael and Wolters, Volkmar and Apostolakis, Antonios and Birkhofer, Klaus and Boch, Steffen and Boeddinghaus, Runa S. and Bolliger, Ralph and Bonkowski, Michael and Buscot, Fran{\c{c}}ois and Dumack, Kenneth and Fischer, Markus and Gan, Huei Ying and Heinze, Johannes and H{\"o}lzel, Norbert and John, Katharina and Klaus, Valentin H. and Kleinebecker, Till and Marhan, Sven and M{\"u}ller, J{\"o}rg and Renner, Swen C. and Rillig, Matthias C. and Schenk, No{\"e}lle V. and Sch{\"o}ning, Ingo and Schrumpf, Marion and Seibold, Sebastian and Socher, Stephanie A. and Solly, Emily F. and Teuscher, Miriam and Kleunen, Mark van and Wubet, Tesfaye and Manning, Peter}, title = {A slow-fast trait continuum at the whole community level in relation to land-use intensification}, series = {Nature Communications}, volume = {15}, journal = {Nature Communications}, number = {1}, issn = {2041-1723}, doi = {10.1038/s41467-024-45113-5}, abstract = {AbstractOrganismal functional strategies form a continuum from slow- to fast-growing organisms, in response to common drivers such as resource availability and disturbance. However, whether there is synchronisation of these strategies at the entire community level is unclear. Here, we combine trait data for 2800 above- and belowground taxa from 14 trophic guilds spanning a disturbance and resource availability gradient in German grasslands. The results indicate that most guilds consistently respond to these drivers through both direct and trophically mediated effects, resulting in a 'slow-fast' axis at the level of the entire community. Using 15 indicators of carbon and nutrient fluxes, biomass production and decomposition, we also show that fast trait communities are associated with faster rates of ecosystem functioning. These findings demonstrate that 'slow' and 'fast' strategies can be manifested at the level of whole communities, opening new avenues of ecosystem-level functional classification.}, language = {en} }
