From an expert point of view, many of these technical measures are profitable in relatively short payback times, if only additional costs are considered. Apparently, many homeowners do not follow this type of rationality and do solely not regard their refurbishment as an investment. Drawing on the results of an empirical survey of retrofit activities among 1,008 homeowners in Germany, it is argued that refurbishments are the outcome of a broader decision which is shaped by an alliance of economic and non-economic motives and goals. Energy-saving measures is expected to lower the burden of operating costs in a perceptible way and secure the value of the house, but they must also correspond to needs like comfort, convenience or belonging in order to be realized.}, language = {en} } @incollection{ZundelStiessWeiss, author = {Zundel, Stefan and Stieß, Immanuel and Weiß, Julika}, title = {Motive und Hemmnisse f{\"u}r eine energetische Sanierung von Eigenheimen}, series = {Wesen und Wege nachhaltigen Konsums : Ergebnisse aus dem Themenschwerpunkt "Vom Wissen zum Handeln - Neue Wege zum nachhaltigen Konsum"}, booktitle = {Wesen und Wege nachhaltigen Konsums : Ergebnisse aus dem Themenschwerpunkt "Vom Wissen zum Handeln - Neue Wege zum nachhaltigen Konsum"}, editor = {Defila, Rico and Di Giulio, Antonietta and Kaufmann-Hayoz, Ruth}, publisher = {Oekom Verlag}, address = {M{\"u}nchen}, isbn = {978-3-86581-296-4}, pages = {181 -- 196}, language = {de} } @incollection{ZundelBeckenbachBriegeletal., author = {Zundel, Stefan and Beckenbach, Frank and Briegel, Ramon and Konrad, Wilfried and Scholl, Gerd}, title = {Routines and their breaking - an agent-based analysis of leisure time mobility}, series = {Subject-Oriented Approaches to Transport}, booktitle = {Subject-Oriented Approaches to Transport}, editor = {Holz-Rau, Christian and Schreiner, Joachim}, publisher = {Institut f{\"u}r Raumplanung (IRPUD)}, address = {Dortmund}, isbn = {978-3-88211-172-9}, pages = {70 -- 84}, language = {en} } @techreport{Zundel, author = {Zundel, Stefan}, title = {Architektur eines Handlungsmodells zur Modellierung der Freizeitmobilit{\"a}t}, address = {Kassel}, pages = {16}, language = {de} } @techreport{Zundel, author = {Zundel, Stefan}, title = {Dynamikon - Umbruchsdynamiken im Konsum und nachhaltige Innovationspfade : eine Untersuchung am Beispiel der Freizeitmobilit{\"a}t ; Endbericht der Hochschule Lausitz}, publisher = {Hochschule Lausitz}, address = {Senftenberg}, doi = {10.2314/GBV:625080467}, pages = {48}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{ZundelDeffnerStiess, author = {Zundel, Stefan and Deffner, Jutta and Stieß, Immanuel}, title = {Making the home consume less - Putting energy efficiency on the refurbishment agenda}, series = {Act! Despite high awareness for energy efficiency and rising energy prices, home owners only slowly take this opportunity to cut down their personal energy use and carbon emission significantly. In many cases, maintenance and repair activities only result in incremental improvements of energy efficiency. Thus, the dynamics of refurbishment seems to have a conservative bias. Against this background, we will present results from an empirical survey, focussing on home owners' maintenance and refurbishment decisions. Drawing on approaches from social-psychology, lifestyle analysis and evolutionary economics, we will explore the impact of attitudes, lifestyle orientations, cognitive frameworks and social resources on refurbishment decision especially on energy efficient ones and present a model integrating the most important driving factors.}, language = {en} } @incollection{ZundelNillSartorius, author = {Zundel, Stefan and Nill, Jan and Sartorius, Christian}, title = {Zeitfenster vorbereiten, {\"o}ffnen und nutzen - Strategien f{\"u}r eine {\"o}kologische Innovationspolitik}, series = {Innovationen und Nachhaltigkeit}, booktitle = {Innovationen und Nachhaltigkeit}, editor = {Beckenbach, Frank and Hampicke, Ulrich and Leipert, Christian and Meran, Georg and Minsch, J{\"u}rgen and Nutzinger, Hans G. and Pfriem, Reinhard and Weimann, Joachim and Wirl, Franz and Witt, Ulrich}, publisher = {Metropolis-Verlag}, address = {Marburg}, isbn = {3-89518-497-7}, pages = {95 -- 122}, language = {de} }
