Electric transport across these layers takes place via intrinsic tunnelling. Mesa devices with a cross-sectional area of 50 to 200 µm2 and a height between 30 and 500 nm were fabricated by electron-beam lithography and ion-beam etching. Both dc I-V characteristics and pulsed current injection have shown switching between different resistive states in these materials. The resistive states have long-term stability, which makes them interesting for memory applications. The transport experiments suggest that switching and resistive memory are controlled by trapping and release of charge carriers. Furthermore, photoelectron and NEXAFS spectroscopy of cleaved LaTiO3.41 surfaces have been performed. The results are compared to recent correlated band theory (LDA+U) calculations.}, language = {en} } @misc{WhaleSpiegelaereTrypsteenetal., author = {Whale, Alexandra S. and Spiegelaere, Ward De and Trypsteen, W. and Nour, Afif Abdel and Bae, Young-Kyung and Benes, Vladimir and Cleveland, Megan and Devonshire, Alison S. and Dong, Lianhua and Drandi, Daniela and Foy, Carole A. and Garson, Jeremy A. and He, Hua-Jun and Hellemans, Jan and Kubista, Mikael and Lievens, Antoon and Makrigiogos, Mike G. and M{\"u}ller, Reinhold D. and Nolan, Tania and O'Sullivan, Denise M. and Pfaffl, Michael W. and R{\"o}diger, Stefan and Romsos, Erica L. and Shipley, Gregory L. and Taly, Valerie and Untergasser, Andreas and Wittwer, Carl T. and Bustin, Stephen A. and Vandesompele, Jo and Huggett, Jim F.}, title = {The Digital MIQE Guidelines Update: Minimum Information for Publication of Quantitative Digital PCR Experiments for 2020}, series = {Clinical Chemistry}, volume = {66}, journal = {Clinical Chemistry}, number = {8}, issn = {0009-9147}, doi = {10.1093/clinchem/hvaa125}, pages = {1012 -- 1029}, language = {en} } @misc{NeyretLeProvostBoesingetal., author = {Neyret, Margot and Le Provost, Ga{\"e}tane and Boesing, Andrea Larissa and Schneider, Florian D. and Baulechner, Dennis and Bergmann, Joana and Vries, Franciska T. de and Fiore-Donno, Anna Maria and Geisen, Stefan and Goldmann, Kezia and Merges, Anna and Saifutdinov, Ruslan A. and Simons, Nadja K. and Tobias, Joseph A. and Zaitsev, Andrey S. and Gossner, Martin M. and Jung, Kirsten and Kandeler, Ellen and Krauss, Jochen and Penone, Caterina and Schloter, Michael and Schulz, Stefanie and Staab, Michael and Wolters, Volkmar and Apostolakis, Antonios and Birkhofer, Klaus and Boch, Steffen and Boeddinghaus, Runa S. and Bolliger, Ralph and Bonkowski, Michael and Buscot, Fran{\c{c}}ois and Dumack, Kenneth and Fischer, Markus and Gan, Huei Ying and Heinze, Johannes and H{\"o}lzel, Norbert and John, Katharina and Klaus, Valentin H. and Kleinebecker, Till and Marhan, Sven and M{\"u}ller, J{\"o}rg and Renner, Swen C. and Rillig, Matthias C. and Schenk, No{\"e}lle V. and Sch{\"o}ning, Ingo and Schrumpf, Marion and Seibold, Sebastian and Socher, Stephanie A. and Solly, Emily F. and Teuscher, Miriam and Kleunen, Mark van and Wubet, Tesfaye and Manning, Peter}, title = {A slow-fast trait continuum at the whole community level in relation to land-use intensification}, series = {Nature Communications}, volume = {15}, journal = {Nature Communications}, number = {1}, issn = {2041-1723}, doi = {10.1038/s41467-024-45113-5}, abstract = {AbstractOrganismal functional strategies form a continuum from slow- to fast-growing organisms, in response to common drivers such as resource availability and disturbance. However, whether there is synchronisation of these strategies at the entire community level is unclear. Here, we combine trait data for 2800 above- and belowground taxa from 14 trophic guilds spanning a disturbance and resource availability gradient in German grasslands. The results indicate that most guilds consistently respond to these drivers through both direct and trophically mediated effects, resulting in a 'slow-fast' axis at the level of the entire community. Using 15 indicators of carbon and nutrient fluxes, biomass production and decomposition, we also show that fast trait communities are associated with faster rates of ecosystem functioning. These findings demonstrate that 'slow' and 'fast' strategies can be manifested at the level of whole communities, opening new avenues of ecosystem-level functional classification.}, language = {en} } @misc{AnderiesCummingClementsetal., author = {Anderies, John M. and Cumming, Graeme S. and Clements, Hayley S. and Lade, Steven J. and Seppelt, Ralf and Chawla, Sivee and M{\"u}ller, Birgit}, title = {A framework for conceptualizing and modeling social-ecological systems for conservation research}, series = {Biological Conservation}, volume = {275}, journal = {Biological Conservation}, publisher = {Elsevier BV}, issn = {0006-3207}, doi = {10.1016/j.biocon.2022.109769}, pages = {13}, language = {en} } @article{MuellerHoffmannMilkoetal., author = {M{\"u}ller, Klaus and Hoffmann, Patrick and Milko, S. and Burkov, Yevgen and Schmeißer, Dieter}, title = {PEEM and µ-NEXAFS of Cu-In-S-Surfaces}, abstract = {The composition of CuInS2-films tends to differ from the ideal ratio of 1:1:2. The thin layers of additional Copper were prepared by evaporation of copper metal in Knudsen-cells. The thickness of this copper-films is in the range of monolayers, revealed by a calibration with copper on iron-substrates. Here we provide an overview of the current state of knowledge on these deposits. The Central European cover beds are divided into (1) the upper layer that is ubiquitously distributed and displays a relatively constant thickness; (2) the intermediate layer the distribution of which is mainly restricted to flat relief, to slope depressions, and to lee-ward facing slopes; and (3) the basal layer, which is rather widespread again. Both the upper and intermediate layer contain intermixed loess, whereas the basal layer is free of loess and typically has a high bulk density. Aside from the loess content, the composition of the layers differs, reflecting varying portions of crushed and chemically weathered rock allocated from up-slope. This causes notable diversity depending on bedrock and, thus, induces remarkable regional differences. Cover beds were mainly formed by periglacial gelifluction. The upper layer formed in the Late Glacial possibly during several short episodes of activity. In contrast, the underlying layers may be diachronous; nevertheless, they display recurring vertical sequences. This is probably due to the fact that loess-free layers usually could not deposit as long as there was loess in the environs, which may have been inherited from older deposits. The aim of this work is to develop a multidisciplinary and -professional guideline for the rehabilitative therapy of PICS. Methods A multidisciplinary/-professional task force of 15 healthcare professionals applied a structured, evidence-based approach to address 10 scientific questions. For each PICO-question (Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome), best available evidence was identified. Recommendations were rated as "strong recommendation", "recommendation" or "therapy option", based on Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation principles. In addition, evidence gaps were identified. Results The evidence resulted in 12 recommendations, 4 therapy options, and one statement for the prevention or treatment of PICS. Recommendations: early mobilization, motor training, and nutrition/dysphagia management should be performed. Delirium prophylaxis focuses on behavioral interventions. ICU diaries can prevent/treat psychological health issues like anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorders. Early rehabilitation approaches as well as long-term access to specialized rehabilitation centers are recommended. Therapy options include additional physical rehabilitation interventions.
