For these reasons such alloys have a relatively good workability and can be closed-die forged without preceding ingot breakdown even if the alloys contain no large fractions of the b phase at the working temperature. The present work was devoted to a combined study of the constitution and microstructural morphologies that develop in various two-step heat treatments of a single-step forged b solidifying alloy. The study included high-energy X-ray diffraction for in situ investigations of the constitution at the heat treatment temperature. It was observed that the phase ransformations are quite sluggish in the material which results in fine microstructures and some conditions that significantly deviate from thermodynamic equilibrium. Further, tensile and creep testing was carried out on the different material conditions in order to identify the range in which the properties can be varied. It is found that this easily forgeable material exhibits comparable strength, ductility and creep strength as more conventional peritectically solidifying alloys.}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{LindemannGlavatskikhLeyensetal., author = {Lindemann, Janny and Glavatskikh, Maria and Leyens, Christoph and Roth-Fagaraseanu, Dan}, title = {Effect of Small Boron and Carbon Additions on the Mechanical Properties of a Novel High Niobium-Containing Gamma Titanium Aluminide Alloy}, series = {Structural aluminides for elevated temperatures, proceedings of the Structural Aluminides for Elevated Temperatures Symposium, held during TMS 2008 annual meeting \& exhibition, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, March 9 - 13, 2008}, booktitle = {Structural aluminides for elevated temperatures, proceedings of the Structural Aluminides for Elevated Temperatures Symposium, held during TMS 2008 annual meeting \& exhibition, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, March 9 - 13, 2008}, editor = {Kim, Young-Won}, publisher = {TMS}, address = {Warrendale, Pa.}, isbn = {978-0-87339-720-9}, pages = {257 -- 264}, language = {en} } @phdthesis{RothFagaraseanu, author = {Roth-Fagaraseanu, Dan}, title = {Entwicklung und Bewertung von Herstellprozessen f{\"u}r TiAl Verdichterschaufeln}, publisher = {Shaker}, address = {Aachen}, isbn = {978-3-8322-7496-2}, pages = {124}, language = {de} } @incollection{LindemannRothFagaraseanuWagner, author = {Lindemann, Janny and Roth-Fagaraseanu, Dan and Wagner, Lothar}, title = {Notch Effects on HCF Strength of Gamma Titanium Aluminides}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{LindemannRothFagaraseanuWagner, author = {Lindemann, Janny and Roth-Fagaraseanu, Dan and Wagner, Lothar}, title = {Effect of Shot Peening on Fatigue Performance of Gamma Titanium Aluminides}, series = {Shot peening, proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Shot Peening (ICSP-8) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, 16 - 20 September 2002}, booktitle = {Shot peening, proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Shot Peening (ICSP-8) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, 16 - 20 September 2002}, publisher = {Wiley-VCH}, address = {Weinheim}, isbn = {3-527-30537-8}, pages = {392 -- 398}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{LindemannRothFagaraseanuWagner, author = {Lindemann, Janny and Roth-Fagaraseanu, Dan and Wagner, Lothar}, title = {Surface Strengthening for Optimizing Fatigue Performance of Gamma Titanium Aluminides at Ambient and Elevated Temperatures, Light Materials for Transportation Systems}, series = {Proceedings of the Second International Conference on Light Materials for Transportation Systems (LiMAT-2001) held at Pusan, Korea, May 6 - 10, 2001, Vol. 2}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the Second International Conference on Light Materials for Transportation Systems (LiMAT-2001) held at Pusan, Korea, May 6 - 10, 2001, Vol. 2}, editor = {Kim, Nack J. and Lee, C.
