The polymer-immobilized enzymes were used for water treatment to decompose persistent organic molecules. Introduction of suitable comonomers allows tailoring the mechanical and chemical properties for special applications. Copolymers containing MMA and itaconic anhydride were chosen because of the formation of long-term stable anhydride functionalities. These anhydride functionalities are employed to attach enzymes covalently. 4-Benzoylphenyl methacrylate is used as comonomer for UV-initiated crosslinking. Terpolymers are successfully obtained by radical copolymerization in solution. The copolymers are compared to poly(ethylene-alt-maleic anhydride) [P(EMA)] often used with respect to enzyme immobilization, activity and hydrolytic stability. The hydrolysis stability of the copolymers against water is studied by ATR-FTIR spectroscopy. Thin films are prepared on glass substrates in a layer-by-layer procedure by spin-coating. The layer formation is monitored by ATR-FTIR spectroscopy. UV-crosslinking of the copolymer films is performed taking the optimal irradiation dose that avoids polymer degradation. ATR-FTIR spectroscopy verifies the coupling reaction between amino groups of the enzyme and the anhydride groups on the surface of the crosslinked polymer film. The syringaldazine (4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde azine) test and 2,2´-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid) (ABTS) assay demonstrate that the immobilized enzymes maintain their activities. The functional copolymers showed a significant effect in reduction of persistent organic pollutants in contaminated waste water.}, language = {de} } @inproceedings{FrankGhesquiereKiefletal., author = {Frank, Martin and Ghesquiere, Pol and Kiefl, Stefan and Weigel, Robert and K{\"o}lpin, Alexander}, title = {Design and characterization of antenna arrays in eWLB package for 61 GHz radar applications}, series = {IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium, 14-17 January 2018, Anaheim, California, USA}, booktitle = {IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium, 14-17 January 2018, Anaheim, California, USA}, publisher = {IEEE}, address = {Piscataway, NJ}, isbn = {978-1-5386-0710-7}, doi = {10.1109/RWS.2018.8304933}, pages = {14 -- 17}, language = {en} } @misc{HerzbergBaudendistelNoestetal., author = {Herzberg, Heidrun and Baudendistel, Ines and N{\"o}st, Stefan and Peters-Klimm, Frank and Scherer, Martin and Blozik, Eva and Joos, Stefanie}, title = {Bridging the gap between patients' needs and quality indicators: a qualitative study with chronic heart failure patients.}, series = {Journal of Patient Preference and Adherence}, volume = {9}, journal = {Journal of Patient Preference and Adherence}, doi = {10.2147/PPA.S83850}, pages = {1397 -- 1405}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{LauFrankShietal., author = {Lau, Isabella and Frank, Martin and Shi, Kilin and Lurz, Fabian and Talai, Armin and Weigel, Robert and K{\"o}lpin, Alexander}, title = {An Accurate Free Space Method for Material Characterization in W-Band Using Material Samples with Two Different Thicknesses}, series = {Proceedings of the 48th European Microwave Conference, Madrid (Spain), 2018}, booktitle = {Proceedings of the 48th European Microwave Conference, Madrid (Spain), 2018}, doi = {10.23919/EuMC.2018.8541437}, pages = {202 -- 205}, language = {en} } @inproceedings{FrankTalaiWeigeletal., author = {Frank, Martin and Talai, Armin and Weigel, Robert and K{\"o}lpin, Alexander}, title = {In-line material characterization sensors operating at 10GHz and 77GHz}, series = {2017 IEEE Asia Pacific Microwave Conference : November 13-16, 2017, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel : proceedings}, booktitle = {2017 IEEE Asia Pacific Microwave Conference : November 13-16, 2017, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel : proceedings}, publisher = {IEEE}, address = {[Piscataway, NJ]}, isbn = {978-1-5386-0640-7}, doi = {10.1109/APMC.2017.8251702}, pages = {4}, language = {en} } @incollection{DrechslerWaetzold, author = {Drechsler, Martin and W{\"a}tzold, Frank}, title = {Ecological-economic modelling for designing cost-effective incentives to conserve farmland biodiversity}, series = {Agricultural Resilience.
