Beyond the technological promises to decouple resource use from economic growth, sufficiency measures to reduce production and consumption volumes in absolute terms are necessary. Businesses integrating sufficiency act as agent of change to transform current unsustainable practices along the entire supply chain. By observing the operationalization of sufficiency in 14 pioneer businesses, this study identifies dimensions and practice elements that characterize sufficiency in business practices. This study observed that the sufficiency in business practices mainly represents a rethinking of business doings on three dimensions: (1) rethinking the relation to consumption; (2) rethinking the relation to others; and (3) rethinking the social meaning of the own organization. Sufficiency practitioners understand production and consumption as a mean to fulfill basic human needs instead of satisfying consumer preferences. They co-create sufficiency-oriented value with peers in a sufficiency-oriented ecosystem and they redefine growth narratives by envisioning an end to material growth. Additionally, this study revealed that care, patience and learning competences are essential characteristics of sufficiency in business practices. Sufficiency practitioners reshape their business doings by caring for others and nature; they demonstrate patience to create slow, local, and fair provision systems; and they accept their shortcomings and learn from mistakes. Integrating elements of care, patience and learning in business practices reduce the risks of sufficiency-rebound effects. Ambivalences between the sufficiency purpose and growth-oriented path dependencies persists for sufficiency-oriented businesses. Circular products and services designed for repair, reuse and recycling require alternative consumption patterns, consumer roles and daily routines—a topic that is still under-researched in the current circular economy literature. We conducted a systematic review of the literature on circular practices with the following objectives: (1) to identify the circular consumer practices studied, (2) to determine the necessary conditions for their appropriation and routinisation, and (3) to suggest how their appropriation and routinisation can be better studied. The analysis of 44 articles revealed 15 circular consumer practices. Meanwhile, Circular consumer practices relating to sufficiency, such as refuse and reduce, have received less attention. We find that elements of practice such as consumer competence, meaning and material play an important role in the appropriation and routinisation of circular consumer practices. However, components such as socio-structural contexts, trade-offs and rebound effects, all of which influence the likelihood of appropriation and routinisation of circular products and services, have not been sufficiently explored. We also find that circular consumer practices are often described as momentary doings rather than ones that are continuously integrated into existing everyday consumption routines. Our findings suggest that circular consumer practices, although interconnected and likely to compete or reinforce each other, are currently conceptualised as isolated practices. Gemeinsam mit den lokal vernetzten Praxispartnern, den Vereinen „Wertewandel", „Netzwerk Zukunftsorte", „heimat-BEWEGEN" und dem Bundesverband Soziokultur werden die Bedingungen sowie die Bedarfe und Potenziale sozialer Innovationsprozesse ermittelt. Mit diesem Papier konzipiert das WIRinREGIONEN Team einen ersten Analyserahmen f{\"u}r das Projekt. Dieser Rahmen wird im Laufe des Projekts empirisch und konzeptionell weiterentwickelt. Ziel ist es ein Verst{\"a}ndnis von regionaler Transformationsf{\"a}higkeit zu konzipieren, dass die Verortung von sozialen Innovationen und ihren Prozessen in Feldern und Netzwerken konzeptionell fundiert. Dabei greifen wir auf unterschiedliche theoretische Ans{\"a}tze zur{\"u}ck. Evidence from French and German case studies of 'collaborative housing' and 'developer-driven neighbourhood sharing' is used to identify two types of popular sharing practices: community-oriented and convenience-oriented. The first group of sharing practices is underpinned by creating, maintaining and experiencing social ties with neighbours. The second group of practices is guided by getting day-to-day tasks done smoothly and efficiently. To support the establishment of such sharing practices, some social and organisational measures are suggested. Thus, convenience-oriented sharing practices may be promoted by infrastructures and associated services that optimise the availability of sharing facilities and minimise temporal stretches and consumption work involved in practice performances. Single-use plastic (SUP) based on fossil fuels is particularly problematic, as it seems virtually unavoidable, especially in everyday products, from plastic wrapping cucumbers to shampoo bottles. Although reducing SUP is crucial, there is little evidence of achieving this in everyday social practices. This paper examines the practicality of reducing SUP and consumer frustration. We studied the social practices of 20 adults using diary records and workshops over the course of two weeks. Our findings suggest that everyday practices shape SUP use, and reducing it disrupts daily life, even for eco-conscious consumers. Packaging-free shops are a popular approach to reducing SUP. However, consumers are hindered from using this alternative by limited availability, convenience and product variety. SensEm is a citizen science project that involves citizens without scientific training in the participatory measurement and analysis of air quality in public spaces. The project should provide citizens with tools to understand their (social) environment and, ideally, help shape it sustainably. This paper will present the first results regarding the citizen science methodology development (process, (digital) toolkit, sensor design), the execution of the first use case, and the engagement with local citizens' initiatives and stakeholders in the German cities Berlin and Wiesbaden. It also gives an outlook on the next steps. A sensor kit was developed to measure the most critical air quality indicators (regarding the current pollution level): nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter, and noise, with available low-cost sensors. In addition to the sensors, a microcontroller was chosen capable of reading out the sensors and transmitting the data via Bluetooth or a Long-Range Wide-Area Network (LoRaWAN). A vital aspect of the housing design is removing non-essential features, such as screens and buttons, to enhance durability and resistance to vandalism. The sensors, initial methods, and workshop concepts were tested during the first pilot. A complete citizen science process was developed based on available guidelines and will be tried in upcoming use cases in Wiesbaden and Berlin. A (digital) annotated time-place map will be a central tool to collect contextual information and connect this information to the measurements to support the interpretation of the measurement results. Stakeholder interviews support the whole process of identifying for whom the data is relevant and how it could be used for different purposes (e.g., city planning). The first pilot showed the potential of joint interpretation with citizens, as they could contribute their knowledge of local conditions and thus provide additional explanations for the origin of the collected data. The most relevant finding from the first interview was that the data collected as part of citizen science projects can, at best, only supplement official measuring stations due to the high legal requirements. It is divided into two parts: (1) the development of a care framework that describes the meanings and enablers of care, and (2) the analysis of empirical data from 14 sufficiency-oriented businesses from a care perspective using the care framework. The findings indicate that from a care perspective, the world is a network of vulnerable and interconnected beings who require individuals to engage in care relationships and activities. Time, financial resources, knowledge, collaboration, technologies, and narratives are essential enablers of care and, as the findings demonstrate, contribute to the implementation of sufficiency. Ergebnisse der Publikation Der ESYS-Impuls zeigt, dass Worst Performing Buildings - Geb{\"a}ude in einer schlechten Effizienzklasse - einen essenziellen Hebel darstellen, um die Treibhausgasemissionen im Geb{\"a}udebereich rasch zu senken. Dabei sollten soziale und gesellschaftliche Faktoren ber{\"u}cksichtigt werden, da die W{\"a}rmewende unmittelbare Auswirkungen auf den Lebensalltag und die Entwicklung der Energiekosten hat. Dies gilt f{\"u}r selbstnutzende Eigent{\"u}mer*innen sowie im besonderen Maße f{\"u}r Mieter*innen. Um Maßnahmen f{\"u}r die W{\"a}rmewende zu formulieren und zu evaluieren, muss die Datenlage im Geb{\"a}udebereich verbessert werden. Daf{\"u}r m{\"u}ssen mehr Daten erhoben werden. Hierf{\"u}r eignen sich beispielsweise Energieausweise. Zudem muss die Bereitstellung der Daten verbessert werden, etwa durch eine Energieausweisdatenbank.
