The Fall and Rise of Man
(1965)
The biblical account of the Fall of Man is understood as the rise of man from a stooped fourleggedness into an upright posture. The further rise of man as he explores outer space must be welcomed without the fear of contradicting some sacred absolute truth, and with the confidence that it will not be used destructively. Exaggerated anxiety and authoritarianism can only hinder the progress of man. Sigmund Freud, Rollo May and Erich FROMM inform the writer's perspective.
