Review Woodworth, R. S.: Contemporary Schools of Psychology
- Reviews the book, >Contemporary Schools of Psychology (Rev. Ed.)<, by Robert S. Woodworth […]. The outline is essentially the same as the earlier edition. The discussions of the structural, functional and hormic schools now seem like history, although Goldstein's organismic and Allport's personalistic psychology have been tied to the last. Behaviorism is brought fully up to date with brief but meaty discussions of Tolman, Hull and Skinner; Gestalt psychology with Lewin; and psychoanalysis with Kardiner, Fromm and Horney. The omission of Guthrie's vigorous recent version of associationism seems a possible oversight. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
