- Last Thursday, Dr. Erich Fromm, internationally-known psychoanalyst, spoke of several obstacles to love. He struck at the real heart of the problem when he said that many Americans tend to have an obsession with non-living things, turning to them for comfort and enjoyment, rattier than to the human beings around them.
