Ética cartesiana: del conocimiento a la felicidad
- Contends that the works of F. S. Fitzgerald and E. FROMM's social and psychological analysis of modern Western society suggests similar reasons for viewing the American dream of perpetual youth and inevitable prosperity as a nightmare. The necrophilous person, modern persons' escape from freedom, reification of the human personality, and love and the consumer mentality are discussed. Both Fitzgerald and FROMM see glorification of youth as a sentimental yearning for the past, while prosperity has turned to ruthless wealth and narcissistic individualism.
