N2 - [Chinese abstract not available] Since ancient Greece, philosophers have begun to study and explore freedom, and have defined freedom from different perspectives. Unlike other philosophers, Marx’s interpretation of freedom is based on human practical activity and criticizes freedom in capitalist society in a practical way of thinking. With people engaged in practical activities as the main body, human freedom is realized through practice. In Marx’s idea of freedom, the realization of human freedom and comprehensive development is the main thread running through it. No idea comes out of thin air, and so does Marx’s idea of freedom. Epicurus’ hedonism and the idea of freedom of the individual that is detached from fixation, Locke’s natural idea of freedom of man and nature, Rousseau’s idea of freedom in social opinion and the idea of freedom of the political state, Kant’s free will thought, Hegel’s dialectical idea of freedom, etc. laid the theoretical foundation for Marx’s idea of freedom. Marx’s idea of freedom from the initial appearance, to development, and then to perfection, did not come overnight, but went through a long process. The starting point of Marx’s idea of freedom was the reflection on reality triggered by the atomic deflection of Epicurus. In the process of its formation and development to perfection, it reflects the criticism and transcendence of freedom in capitalist society and the construction of freedom in communist society. From his critique of the censorship of books and newspapers, Marx proposed the freedom of the press and the press, which has a people’s character, is different from the freedom of industry, and is the privilege of human spiritual activities; in his critique of Powell’s political emancipation, he pointed out that political freedom should be liberated from religion, political freedom should be protected by law, and the realization of political freedom also requires the establishment of human rights; in the critique of alienated labor, he pointed out that labor freedom is the fundamental activity of man and the way of existence of man; in his critique of capitalist economic freedom, he pointed out that economic freedom is the realization of freedom in the economic field by people to get rid of the control of alien forces, and the realization of economic freedom cannot be separated from the development of productive forces, the abolition of private ownership and the distribution according to their own ability. Social freedom is the establishment of a true community, the realization of which entails the abolition of classes and the establishment of a union of free men. The highest state of human personality development is the concentrated embodiment of the all-round development of human freedom, and it is also the ultimate goal of Marx’s idea of freedom. Marx’s idea of freedom is very rich in connotation and of great value. Marx’s idea of freedom provided theoretical resources for the concept of freedom in the core values of socialism, and provided important value references for Fromm’s idea of freedom and the idea of human alienation in the Frankfurt School, and Marcuse’s theory of human and social development.
