Funk_R_2022i] JF - Journal Psychologie des Alltagshandelns / Psychology of Everyday Activity, Vol. 16 (No. 1, 2023), pp. 31-38. N2 - This article, based on the author’s keynote speech at the first International Conference on Critical and Radical Humanist Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Innsbruck, draws on radical humanist theorizing on human productivity and the >pathology of normalcy< in demon-strating the importance of the contribution of Erich Fromm as a basis for Critical Psychology . The sociologist and psychoanalyst Erich Fromm (1900-1980) developed a social psychological method, the special significance of which is that it explicitly captures unconscious motivations and impulses. This makes it possible to identify strivings and behaviors, as well as common values and thought patterns, which, from a humanistic perspective, represent socially patterned mental >defects<. Based on Fromm’s concept of social character, what is perceived as >normal< and >reasonable< in a given society can be exposed as a potential >pathology of normalcy<. After briefly outlining major con-cerns of the project of Critical Psychology, Erich Fromm's social-psychoanalytical approach is in-troduced. The following sections are dedicated to the significance of character formation for ex-plaining social behavior, social repression and socially patterned defects. Next, some indications will be given regarding the meaning of human productivity according to Erich Fromm. Subsequently, the pathogenic impacts of social character orientations will be illustrated based on the exemplary types of the authoritarian and the contemporary marketing social character. The article concludes with a short summary of Erich Fromm’s contribution to Critical Psychology. N2 - During the lockdown, we, as analysts, had to face new situations, which disrupted our habitual mode of working and challenged our ability to adapt. I discovered that having a supportive relationship among colleagues became more important than ever. I will discuss the influence that the transition from in-presence sessions to the online modality during the pandemic has had on the therapeutic process and setting. The adoption of new relational working procedures instead of the usual in-person session has revived the centrality of those themes having to do with the body and sensoriality in psychoanalysis, including the possibility of recognizing and integrating dissociated embodied traumatic experiences, ones that are non-verbalized, and not able to be verbalized. I will outline a clinical case to detail the difficulties encountered in my clinical practice, in which the contingency strategy, based on working remotely, continued to guarantee that sense of security necessary to enable the possibility of dreaming together and freely exploring – introducing, however, within the relationship, aspects of Ferenczi and Rank’s >active technique,< which would not have occurred in person, and which certainly impacted the process in a different way, while always permitting the identification and assimilation of dissociated experiences. N2 - The Institut für Psychoanalyse Zürich-Kreuzlingen (IfP) was founded as a working group in 1972. Its founder Norman Elrod graduated from the Carl-Gustav-Jung-Institute in Zurich and followed a politically and philosophically reflected psychoanalysis. In addition, he was engaged in the treatment of psychotic patients. Quite a few of his co-workers worked in the Psyichiatria Democratica in Italy as well as in institutions in Germany and Switzerland, where they also contributed greatly to psychoanalytically inspired multiprofessional care for severely ill individuals, including forensic patients. N2 - The best way to reconstruct the history of psychoanalytic ideas is to begin from the study not of theories, but of the various authors and their contexts. Important contributions to the study of the ego in Europe had already come from Ferenczi and Fenichel, well before Hartmann founded Ego Psychology (EP), which became mainstream in North America. In Europe, before World War II, significant contributions to what here is called >psychoanalytic ego psychology< (Pep) (contrasted with Hartmann’s EP) came from Anna Freud, Paul Federn, and Gustav Bally. After World War II, contributions came from Alexander Mitscherlich, Paul Parin, and Johannes Cremerius in the German-speaking community, and from Joseph Sandler in the UK. If this is the case, we should then talk of >ego psychologies< in the same way as we talk of the various object relations theories. Pep – as it was described in the guiding principles formulated by Fenichel in the 1930s – keeps informing the clinical work of many psychoanalysts, even if they are not fully aware of it. For example, it represents the basic ingredient of the empirically verifiable >psychoanalytic therapy< formulated in detail by Helmut Thomä and Horst Kächele. 精神分析学派的上述观点在宗教学领域产生了重要影响,但因过分强调潜意识的作用,颠倒了社会存在和社会意识的关系,科学研究反而为神在现代社会的存在提供了>栖身之所< N2 - Many psychoanalysts have explained the psychological roots of the formation of religious ideas from an individually occurring perspective. Freud regarded religion as a neurosis and God as an idealized father; Jung placed the collective subconscious in the place of God and regarded religion as the natural life of the collective subconscious; the school of object relations regarded a good mother-infant relationship as the source of religious experience and the parent-child relationship as having a direct influence on the image of God in the mind of the individual; Fromm regarded religion as a basic need of human nature, rooted in the survival of the inescapable born human situation; George Frankl emphasized that religious concepts are part of the psychological world. Frankl emphasized that religious concepts are the product of the externalization of the psychological world. The above views of the psychoanalytic school of thought have had an important influence in the field of religion, but because of the over-emphasis on the role of the subconscious mind and the reversal of the relationship between social existence and social consciousness, scientific research has provided a >shelter< for the existence of God in modern society. However, looking at the development of scientific psychology in the past one and a half centuries, female psychology is not a dominant theme that many psychologists have deliberately focused on. Among the many theoretical schools of psychology, psychoanalytic psychologists have studied the female psyche the most and in the most depth. Freud and his successors explored and uncovered the female psyche from different angles and levels. Freud emphasized sexual instinct, his early followers Jung emphasized archetypes, Adler emphasized social status, his later followers Horney emphasized socio-cultural environment, Erikson emphasized social experience, Klein emphasized mother-daughter relationship, and Fromm emphasized psychosocial atmosphere. Psychoanalytic psychologists proposed and elaborated their own view of female psychology within their respective theoretical frameworks, which was important for the subsequent development of female psychology and the study of female psychology. N2 - >Reflections on the use of artificial intelligence in nursing from the perspective of humanistic psychology.< In this article, the significance of artificial intelligence (Al) is examined from the perspective of humanistic psychology. A special focus is placed on the seminal work of Erich Fromm. By way of introduction, it will be shown why the topic of Al in nursing is relevant from both a nursing science and a psychological perspective. Subsequently, critical perspectives are first elaborated that address the dangers of the increased use of Al for nursing and society. Possible negative consequences for nursing such as a change in normative standards and increasing de-humanization are pointed out. However, Al can also be seen as a beacon of hope and provide support for people’s lifelong identity work. Opportunities and risks for identity work are discussed using a model regarding the dimensions of authentici-ty/coherence, belonging/recognition, and control/autonomy. Finally, a short summary is drawn, emphasizing the importance of bringing social science-based knowledge into political discourses and technology development. This article aims to examine the form of patriarchal culture and the form of reconstruction of patriarchal cultural domination through efforts to fulfil needs using Erich Fromm's psychoanalytic study. The data in the study were analysed using the descriptive method. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the forms of the patriarchal culture that appear in the novel >Geni Jora< include: (1) stereotyping/negative labelling, (2) violence against women, and (3) subordination. Kejora's actions to reconstruct the dominance of patriarchal culture are carried out by fulfilling the needs consisting of two fulfilments according to Erich Fromm, namely: (1) the need for freedom and attachment (connectedness, unity, and creation), and (2) to understand and do (framework orientation and effectiveness).
