In a paradigmatic shift from the Freudian conflict model, tension reduction and tension enhancement dynamics are re-conceptualized as valences toward the processes of tension reduction and tension enhancement, rather than toward the respective states of reduced tension or enhanced tension. We posit a unitary direction-independent foundational id drive toward tension level change which incorporates tension reduction and enhancement. As the primary drive circumscribed to manipulations of id tension level, the dynamics of Delta are distinguished from those of Eros and Thanatos whose purviews are in the domain of drive purpose/function (or evolutionary design) and also differentiated from the subjective phenomenological experience of drive expression which varies among people. Theoretical and clinical issues in sexuality and aggression are critically analyzed as entailing libidinal elements of tension enhancement and reduction. Key points are annotated with illustrative clinical vignettes. The intersections between Delta dynamics, ego psychology, and object relations are explored. Possible elaborations of sub-drive development entailing functional autonomy are outlined.}, language = {en} } @article{Jones, author = {Jones, David W.}, title = {Navigating the space between: Reflecting on epistemological struggle and the psychosocial perspective. Between them they provide robust critiques of both psychologism and sociologism for failing to fully capture the complex interplay of the social and the psychological, highlighting the need for a more nuanced understanding. In this paper I suggest that engagement with 'psychosocial perspectives' that acknowledge the inextricable link between psychic and social realms, can offer this more nuanced understanding of human experience. I examine the development of psychosocial thinking, highlighting the influence of practice, particularly psychiatry and psychoanalysis, in shaping this perspective. The paper explores research methods that draw on diverse theories and practices, including psychosocial interviewing, observational methods, social dreaming and historical methods. He creatively established the humanis¬tic psychoanalysis. Fromm is deeply concerned about the alienated people in the real world, continually focusing on their mental health issues. In addition, he is committed to exploring approaches to help modern people escape from the predicament of survival, and devoting his life to the cause of human liberation. This thesis mainly discusses Fromm's thought of sound personality, sorts out and summarizes the content of sound personality thought scattered in Fromm's works, forms a systematic study. The thesis combines the requirements of China in the new era for the sound development of young people's personality to explore the contemporary value of Fromm's thought. This research mainly consists of four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly discusses the background and significance of studying Fromm's thought of sound personality. The second chapter is the theoretical source of Fromm's sound personality thought, mainly introducing the background, theoretical origins, and the theoretical basis of the thought. The third chapter is the basic content of Fromm's thought of healthy personality, mainly introducing the definition, characteristics and path of healthy personality. The third chapter is the basic content of Fromm's sound personality thought, narrating from four aspects: the definition, characteristics, training path and the evaluation of the thought. The fourth chapter is the en¬lightenment of Fromm's sound personality thought to the cultivation of healthy personality of young people in the new era. In this chapter, the author summarizes and discusses the characteristics of sound perso¬nality of young people in the new era from General Secretary Xi Jinping's lecture to young people, and points out the rationality of studying Fromm's sound personality thought in the new era. Combining with the characteristics of sound personality discussed above, the author argues that the culti¬vation of healthy personality in the new era requires the pursuit of positive freedom, the cultivation of productive oriented personality, the pursuit of a life-style of paying attention to survival, and the cultivation of the ability of creative love. Although Fromm's thought of sound personality is a product of the capitalist society in the 20th century, it has theoretical significance and practical value for cultivating healthy youth, forming a positive social mentality and building a socialist harmonious society in China in the new era. As one of the representative figures of Western Marxism, Fromm believes that we should understand love from a humanitarian tradition. Fromm lived in a capitalist society with rapidly expanding material wealth. Accompanied by two world wars and an economic crisis, Fromm believes that people are in a state of alienated existence, in which man regards material possessions as the whole of his life and is alienated from himself, his fellow man, and nature. Through the observation and analysis of the current social situation, Fromm thinks about the alienation of human existence in three dimensions: the alienation of freedom, the alienation of love, and the alienation of existence. Based on Marx's reflection on the human beings and Freud's psychoanalytic approach, Fromm formed his theory about humanitarian love. Fromm believed that human beings have a fundamental spiritual need to long for union with others and thus escape loneliness and anxiety. It is precisely because modern Western society is unable to solve this need that people choose to escape from it in ways such as mechanized convergence and consumerism. As a kind of union based on maintaining their own independence, love can solve this spiritual need of human beings, so that people can get rid of the survival of the alienation of the predicament, to realize the liberation of human beings. In Fromm's view, the essence of love is a dynamic creative activity, which includes both giving and creating. In addition to this, love also includes such essential elements as responsibility and respect. Fromm's humanitarian love clarifies the true meaning of love, enabling people to reflect on the misconceptions of love and their own circumstances, so as to obtain a free and harmonious state of existence. Despite the limitations of this theory, it still has a certain reference value and usefulness for today's world. [Translation: www.cnki.net, 1/2025]}, language = {zh} }
