Anderson. In a simple, uncluttered style Dr. Anderson presents a string of banalities relieved periodically by bits of misinformation and a >valid theory of behavior< which is really a jumble of other psychiatric writings The book is intended to be free of cultist jargon and suitable for parents and physicians. It also purports to offer a start toward a conceptual integration of psychiatry and religion. The book is free of cultist jargon, although it is doubtful that it would be suitable for parents and physicians. In addition, it fails to integrate psychiatric and religious concepts, and it offers no new theory of behavior. Surprisingly, the quality of writing is excellent. In one chronological sense Beyond Freud does go beyond; for some of the ideas of Freud's successors are included, such as Sullivan, Fromm, Horney, etc. But in the chronological span of Freud's own writings, the book does not go much beyond early Freud. These two utopias are read as representative of a fundamental tension within the writings of Marx: while Morris's understanding of labor aligns with the early works of Marx, Bellamy's vision is an expression of later attempts by Marx to distinguish between productive activity performed in the >realm of necessity< and that performed in the >realm of freedom.< This project identifies in Bellamy's utopia a continued presence of alienated labor and reads this limitation as the inevitable outcome of an attempt to realize Marx's distinction between necessary and free production; Morris's ability to eradicate alienated labor in his utopia is thus only possible because he abandons this distinction and recognizes, as did the early Marx, the centrality of all forms of production to the individual's realization of her creative human essence. However, while Morris overcomes alienation, his attempt to break with the material foundations of capitalism leaves his utopia unsustainable; this project therefore looks to Bellamy's economic structures in an attempt to imagine how Morris's labor philosophy might be infused with Bellamy's structural elements to create a socialist future which would grow from the material conditions of capitalism while fully separating itself from the alienation of capitalist labor relations.}, language = {en} } @article{Atmasarietal, author = {Atmasari, Luthfi and et al.,}, title = {Konsep cinta wanita perkerja seks (WPS) [The concept of love among female sex workers (FSW)]}, series = {Happiness - Journal of Psychology and Islamic Studies, Vol. 4, No. 1 (2020), pp. 78-103. But is the economic and social reproduction's sometimes problematic but solid continuity explainable if we break up with the economic action's classic and origin{\´a}l - the consumer's needs satisfying-target theory, and the causal and segmental (in other theories: balanced versus imbalanced) motifs' sharp differentiation? I argue for its inclusion in the curriculum but, more specifically, for its use as part of intervention programmes that allow young people to discuss a range of emotional and mental health difficulties in a safe space. Chapter One introduces the central research questions and methodology. Chapter Two provides an overview of the relationship between >Realism< and >realistic fiction< so that the work is situated within Literary Studies. Acknowledging that 'reality' in fiction can only be represented within the conventions of narrative structure, the thesis provides a definition of YA realism: it is an artistic representation of a variety of adolescent experiences that could occur in the real world, a fictionalisation of the feasible. Because certain YA material is treated in 'realist' mode, controversies often erupt so some of those issues will be foregrounded here. An overview of the evidence that reading can have a positive impact on well-being is provided in Chapter Three and a discussion about hope and why storytelling matters should help to explain why: YA realism can be a remedy. In Chapter Four, I argue that endings of these books are important and leave the readers of a realm of hope. An analysis of these novels from this standpoint could provide the narrative solution to concerns about certain aspects of YA realism and allay any fears that the books are inappropriate. The chapter offers an analysis of: Melvin Burgess's >Junk< (1996); Jay Asher's >Thirteen Reasons Why< (2007); Stephen Chbosky's >The Perks of Being a Wallflower< (1999) and Angie Thomas's >The Hate You Give< (2017). Erich Fromm (1900-80) is the German psychologist who underscores the significance of individual freedom in his book Escape from Freedom (1941) and maintains that on the path towards freedom, individuals attempt at unshackling themselves from restrictive forces; however, as they release themselves from the restrictions of an authority and refuse to yield to its demands, individuals are left with feelings of insecurity and powerlessness. As a result, they try to compensate for the feeling of insecurity by either submitting themselves to another authority figure or becoming authority figures themselves. Existential vulnerabilities mark a boundary between what humans can bring about willfully or manipulate to their advantage and what is resistant to such actions. These vulnerabilities have their origin, on an ontological level, in fundamental conditions of human existence. At the same time, they have implications on a psychological level when it comes to self-experience and identity formation. Narrative and value-based identity depend on how a person relates to finitude and the ambiguous side of lived experience. Relational identity depends on how a person relates to existential aloneness and the fact that the meaning and value of our actions are partly out of our control; they are always also dependent on other people's responses to us. Bodily identity makes us feel continuous and real, but at the same time vulnerable to death and the gaze and actions of others. Being >thrown< into an arbitrary life context is also a form of existential vulnerability. Authentic psychological identities can develop by giving meaning to these circumstances and balancing acceptance of existential vulnerability with the courage to make choices and act.}, language = {en} } @article{BiriukovaLarina, author = {Biriukova, Ekaterina Vadimovna and Larina, Nadezhda Albertovna}, title = {Representation of the Consumer Society in V. It is often asserted that authors within this tradition, seeking to understand the contradictory elements of capitalism, have approached psychoanalysis primarily from a theoretical perspective. Indeed, Theodor Adorno and Erich Fromm were the actors of this discussion, and, as a result, they stand among the pioneers in analyzing psychoanalytic clinical practice and its social function. In 1935, Fromm published an article in which Freud is depicted as a revolutionary figure for introducing the concept of the unconscious. This revolution is, nevertheless, constrained by bourgeois values, which inevitably shaped the goals and societal role of the psychoanalytic technique. Adorno, however, defended Freud and attempted to comprehend the critical function of the analyst's coldness. In view of the central position of digital communication in the digital age and the reality of highly capitalized, commodified, exploited and alienated communication in digital platforms. Christian Fuchs, a famous contemporary British left-wing critical communication scholar, has systematically put forward the critical theory of communication. Following the academic tradition of Western Marxism, this theory uses capital and labour as the entry point to criticize the reality of digital communication and the structure of platform communication under the capitalist structure. It not only clarifies the nature of capitalist exploitation behind contemporary digital communication, but also reveals its inherent capital operation mechanism and labour control system. This study focuses on Fuchs ' critical theory of communication and tries to explore the historical basis of its formation, the internal logic of its construction and the alternative solutions designed to completely liberate the current digital communication field from three dimensions: history, reality and future. The thesis includes five chapters. Chapter 1 adopts the research method of intellectual history. It traces the academic influence and ideological inspiration of Marx, Engels, the Frankfurt School represented by Adorno, Marcuse, Fromm and Habermas and the political economy of communication led by Smythe on Fuchs, thus clarifies the theoretical construction of his critical theory of communication. Chapter 2 takes capital as the starting point. First of all, it explores the isomorphic relationship between the transformation process of capital from industrial capital to digital capital and the change of communication mode from the age of mass media to the age of Internet media. Secondly, by tracing the history of the commercialization of the Internet, the negative impact of capital's involvement in the development of the Internet-dot com bubble crisis-is highlighted, while web 2.0, as a product of overcoming the crisis and seeking investment, is essentially a concept invented by capital. In the end, it focuses on the exploitation reality and profit logic of the current digital communication platform, revealing the capital operation mechanism in the capitalist digital communication space with the monopoly position of the platform, the law of time appropriation and the strategy of data realization as the core. Chapter 3 focuses on labour. First of all, it traces the theoretical history of Smythe's audience commodity and the resulting academic debate, as well as its latest development in the digital media age-Fuchs' Internet prosumer commodity. Secondly, the academic debate between Jenkins and Fuchs on the nature of social media further highlights the inherently exploitative nature of corporate social media, which ostensibly serves as a platform for participatory culture but in fact focuses on the unpaid appropriation of users' digital labour. In the end, focus on the labour nature of digital communication behavior and look at its labour control system, with ideological indoctrination, digital panoramic surveillance and gamification of labour as the main strategies. Chapter 4 looks toward the future. Focusing on Fuchs' recently proposed communicative socialism/digital socialism, this chapter systematically elaborates on the alternatives that critical theory of communication envisions for the current capitalist digital communication field. Firstly, introduce the theoretical background and practical direction of the emergence of communicative socialism/digital socialism. Then, a socialist communication field based on highly developed digital media and intelligent technologies is outlined in three specific dimensions: academic transformation, platform transformation and technological liberation. As a conclusion, Chapter 5 locates and reflects on the academic contributions of Fuchs from the macro perspective of Marxist communication research, and further discusses the implications of critical theory of communication for the development of digital communication in China. In the twentieth century, the social structure of America changed greatly due to the development of capitalism, and the conflict caused by the cultural difference between the North and the South forms one of the common themes in Williams' works. With the prevalence of capitalism and the change of modern mainstream ideology, those who have changed some of the old ideas, whereas have not been completely assimilated into modern thought, represented by Shannon, are portrayed as the social marginals struggling with inner contradictions in Williams' works. Based on Erich Fromm's theory of freedom, this thesis interprets >The Night of the Iguana< by analyzing Shannon's contradictory thoughts and behaviors in his process of pursuing individual freedom. It attempts to present how the marginalized people in modern capitalist society realize the freedom of individual's full expression of his real personality by resisting the spiritual paralysis and oppression in society. This thesis consists of three parts. Firstly, it analyzes the protagonist's self-consciousness against social knowledge, and explores the way to get rid of the automaton conformity by revealing the protagonist's subversion of several stereotyped images perceived by the society. Subsequently, it discusses how Shannon establishes non-utilitarian interpersonal relationship under the influence of modern capitalist society. Then this thesis focuses on the natural setting in the play, exploring how the marginalized people who are isolated due to social exclusion build their secondary bonds with nature, so as to obtain spiritual salvation. Shannon's pursuit of individual freedom exposes the shackles that the mainstream ideology of capitalist society imposes on modern people's individuality. In addition, his exploration of both the internal and external world provides the possibility to break the shackles and realize the freedom of individual's full expression of his real personality. Social character is considered not as a typical (modal) individual character in society. As a systemic formation of social interactions, social character has non-additive (emergent) properties. Both individuals and various social communities are subjects of social character. At the individual level, social character is manifested as typical behavior traits in the process of communicating with different social groups. At the level of interpersonal, intergroup and mass communication, social character is a typical form of social interaction. Social character is the result of the mutual influence of subjects on individual behavior in the form of persuasion, suggestion, imitation and infection. The article analyzes the methods of measuring social character. It presents a test developed by one of the authors (R. B Shaikhislamov) to measure the degree of inner-, tradition- and other- directedness (according to D. Riesman' stypology). The results of the measurement of social character in the course of interviewing residents of the Republic of Bashkortostan in 2015-2016 are presented. The authors come to the conclusion about the need for a comprehensive study of social character. The following problems are of great scientific interest. What are the emergent properties of social character in stable and unstable social situations? What are the trends of changes in the social character of Russians in the post-Soviet era? How significant are the differences in the social character of different generations, ethnic groups, residents of megacities, other cities and villages? We note that it is necessary to develop a system of indicators to measure social character. In addition to such indicators as inner-, tradition- and other-directedness, it is necessary to measure social character by such variables as >dominance - subordination<, >productivity - non- Productivity<, >responsibility - irresponsibility<, >cooperation - isolation<, >trust - distrust<, >Conformity - Innovation - Ritualism - Retreatism - Rebellion<.}, language = {en} } @article{Asatulloyev, author = {Asatulloyev, Inomjon}, title = {ЭРИХ ФРОММ ФАЛСАФАСИДА БЕГОНАЛАШУВ МАСАЛАСИ [ПРОБЛЕМА ОТЧУЖДЕНИЯ В ФИЛОСОФИИ ЭРИХА ФРОММА] [The problem of alienation in the philosophy of Erich Fromm]}, series = {Scientific Bulletin of Namangan State University, Vol. 1, No. 1 (2019), pp. 119-124. Philosophers search and researches are going on to get the solution of the problems that human being either free or determine. We are still not in a position to give the answer of the question regarding human freedom and determination. People who are determined assume that behavior is determined by outside and internal forces performing on the human being. For example of an outside force could be parents supporting a kind of behavior thereby encouraging it. On the other hand an internal force would be driven by hormones. People who believe in free will assume that things are a bit difficult. They know that there is external and internal factors but they believe that people are free to choose their own action. The freedom and determination debate could be finished up by the query that could a person's behavior have been different in a certain situation if they willed it? Freedom, within psychological research today, is a neglected, even slightly old-fashioned term. In this paper, we explore the practical, normative, and political dimensions of freedom as a psychological concept. We begin by tracing out key understandings of freedom from political theory, before discussing how thinkers such as Skinner, Maslow, Fromm, and May understood the different dimensions of freedom. We then discuss a governmental perspective on freedom, drawn from the work of Nikolas Rose, before finally turning to the sociocultural psychology of L. S. Vygotsky. We contend that freedom is not merely the absence of constraints but a complex interplay between agency, responsibility, and social connections. Our paper argues that the modern emphasis on negative freedom, characterized by reduced interference and obligations, has resulted in a paradoxical situation where individuals feel overwhelmed and seek escape from freedom. By revisiting the insights of Erich Fromm and other scholars, we emphasize the need for positive freedom, which involves voluntary connections with others and active participation in shaping society. We argue that psychology's mandate should be to facilitate the exploration of alternative avenues that lead to flourishing and self-actualization.}, language = {en} } @misc{OPUS4-39525, title = {Erich Fromm and Left Strategy . Authoritarian group narcissists are exclusively and unscrupulously concerned with their own (and group-related) uniqueness, their power, and their money and therefore shamelessly discriminate against weak and inferior groups. It is therefore discussed whether group narcissism might not be a useful theoretical approach to observe and analyze the elitism of Trumpists and their supporters in addition to existing concepts of authoritarianism. Finally, Erich Fromm's Theory of the Self is acknowledged as a meta-theoretical framework within which >academic< social psychological theories of identity and the self can also be placed. Physical and mental development during this period of change will have a significant impact on the future development of the individuals, so this study chooses middle school students as the object of the study. Fromm's needs theory and Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory is that humans generally have needs vest. For middle school students, their need to belong is reflected in the sense of belonging to the school. Students of different personality characteristics treat the problem in different ways. The teacher is the guide of the student in the school study and in the life, there is no doubt that teacher attachment status will affect the development of self-identity and attitude of middle school students. The role of the students affiliated compliance of teacher will migrate to the school attachment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between personality traits, teacher attachment and sense of school belonging of middle school students. Method: Using EPQ, teacher attachment scale and school belonging scale (Xu Kunming), this study surveys 685 students, who come from ten classes, four grade of a Xi'an key middle school. There are some conclusions through some the statistics ways such as variance analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, regression analysis, mediating effect. Results: (1) Middle school students psychoticism and neuroticism had significant differences between different gender and different segment, psychoticism scores of boys than girls, girls neuroticism scores higher than boys; the level of psychoticism of junior school students is higher than senior high school students, the level of neuroticism of high school students is higher than that of junior middle school students. Students' neuroticism levels from divorced family are higher than normal families. Studying time has significant difference on the personality traits of middle school students. (2) The attachment between the teachers and students of junior high school students is higher than senior high school students. The dimension of help and acceptance of the students in the normal family are higher than students from divorced families. Studying time has a different effect on the attachment between the middle school students and teachers. With the studying time longer, level of attachment between the teachers and students of middle school is decreasing. (3) There were significantly different on all dimensions of school belonging of the students in the different gender and different segment. Studying time has significant difference on the school belonging of middle school students, mainly in the school environment, teachers' behaviors and school belonging total scores. (4) There is extremely significant negative correlation between level of neuroticism and school belonging, namely the neuroticism level is higher, the lower the level of school belonging. It exists significant negative correlation between teacher attachment score and neuroticism dimension, between psychoticism and teacher attachment score. There is positively related to teacher attachment and sense of school belonging. Conclusion: Personality traits play an important influence on the sense of school belonging by two ways: firstly, neuroticism directly affects middle school students' sense of school belonging; secondly, attachments between teacher and student are the intermediary variable between personality traits and sense of school belonging.
