Creative Commons licenses

As the author, you can specify how others may use your document. These conditions are specified in the license. Creative Commons licenses allow you to grant rights of use that go beyond the narrow limits of copyright law.

The license chooserallows you to select the appropriate license.

Caution!

You can only grant rights to third parties that you own yourself. If your publication or parts of it are published by a publisher, the chosen Creative Commons license must not contradict the rights granted to the publisher. To check the licenses approved by different publishers, the Sherpa/RoMEO platform is a good place to start.

If you do not want to or cannot select a CC license, the signed publishing agreement applies - this is effective in any case – and, of course, German copyright law.
